People say I use my mental illness as an excuse for poor performance on certain tasks in which I don't, but THEY use my mental illness as an excuse for why I can't do this & that. I go apply for jobs, & employers don't even consider looking @ my application or resume. No one wants to hire me, & I'm frustrated. & then when I do get a job, people fire me the 1st day. Am I destined to be poor forever?

No your not! Just do your best and never give up!

Identify what areas you are best with. I know in the millions out there, someone will give u a chance, and if that chance comes. Dont let them down. prove to them that you are fit for the job. okey.

Keep up! dont lose up! believe and you will survive!

It would help to know the reason they let you go on the first day. The problem is that you are compared with the number of available applicants out there, and most employers are looking for the best qualified, ability to learn new things, looks, well-spoken, ability to multi-task. These are the qualities that many companies are looking for. There are college students applying for simple jobs to supplement their income while in school.

Poor performance on a job, unfortunately, would be a waste of employer's time. If you lack the ability to focus or concentrate - this type of disability will set you back. On the other hand, if your disability is only physical, but you have a sharp mind - then people would be more willing to take a chance on you. Concentration/focus can be improved by daily mental exercise, playing word games, etc. Here is a website that encourages that since it is geared towards people 50+ because after that age, mental decline sets in unless you take steps to sharpen your abilities.

dear daisy those who say you are someone who uses mental disability as excuse for poor performance then you should have one reply for them..............
there is nothing like disabled in life its differently abled.
all of us are differently abeled when compared with one onother, what you could not do perfectly may be they can do , but there must be lots of things that you can do much better than many people around you....
so key is first do things that you enjoy or enjoy doing all kinds of things and then compare what are your strengths and what are not so strong points and then work on them.........
life is a never ending quest, all of us face hurdles in life,
please remember no one is "guaranteed a perfect future, its better we make full use of whatever strengths we have and leave the rest on god or the mighty luck, who knows the same old daisy might become daisy the inspiraton for all people around you...........................

oooops forgot to mention one thing , loved your name, its so sweet" daisy"
take care
keep smiling

Mental illness may cause you to be disabled but many can be controlled or cured. Only your mental health professionals can know for sure what you are capable of doing to control your disease.
