am very upset. My son is such a good little baby, but over the past month he has not been himself lately. The right side of his face is much larger then the left and his eye is so swollen. I have taken him to 4 different doctors and they all said "we thinks" and "maybes" and noone can tell me anything. They all make it seem normal and like im paranoid. Over the past three days hes actually been vommiting ( not spitting up) 5 + times and hes been very fussy, not like him at all. He had another eye doctor appointment today and his eye looked awful. They spent 10 minutes and took three flash photos (all at the childrens hospital) and told me his eye was swollen (duh) and his lip was droopy (duh) and a bunch of other stuff I already knew. I was sitting holding my son when I heard the docs mention his name and saying that they found a little something in the pictures, but they didnt think that it was that big of a deal to do anything with. This has ben going of for weeks. Help. am i crazy

No, you're not crazy. My sister went through much the same thing with her youngest son, before a SMART x-ray tech noticed something out of place with one of the x-rays that turned out to be a very large tumor.

Try Saint Jude's, or Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters if you haven't already. You need a different doctor for your son.

Good luck!

I know what you are going through when my sone (now 23) was a baby I had taken him to 19 different doctors when "WIC" well child clinic finally set me on the right path and eventually he got into Shriner's Hospital in Portland, Oregon. I am not sure what state you live in, but you need to get him to a larger childrens hospital and beg, plead whatever it takes while staying as calm as you can for thier help. If there is a group of "Shriners" near you or even the "Lions" (since his eye is involved) contact that group and see if they can help you get a referral if you need one. AS hard as it it, sometimes diagnoses takes a while, even though my son was diagnosed at 16 months...over a two week period that that he was at Shriner's they had thought the condition was something new about everyday and that was frustrating, but we were there and they were trying to find out what it was. My sons' condition is rare, very rare and they did finally figure it out. Believe in yourself, believe your gut feelings because you as the mom know when something is wrong, don't settle for "You're overconcerned", "you're over reacting" you are the only one that can speak for your child. My son was a newborn when I started taking him to the doctor's saying "this and this" and he was 16 months when we finally got referred to Shriner's. Hang in there, be presistant and do your best to stay calm with the doctor's. Research as much as you can on the internet, it is a valuable tool, you are the best advocate for your childs health as well as your own. Big Hugs too you!

No hun, you're not crazy, you just love your son, you want a solution to the problem.. Depending on where you live, you could always get a referral from your main doctor to a specialist and see what's going on. otherwise if they still aren't helping, you should start demanding answers and demand to see specialists and other higher people in order to get the advice and medical assistance you need for your son,

Good luck

If you have already had an MRI done and that was negative and he did not have an allergic reaction to something then I would definately get a 2nd or 3rd opinion. I would request his xrays from his eyes and seek another doctor.
