As there is NO such a thing as a god how can he want for anything? People who believe in this god or any god are just poor brainwashed people, who need to wake up and get a life.!!!

If God existed then i really doubt he would expect people to kneel before him. That's only OUR human perspective on people of power.
He, i would imagine, would be far more tollerant of people who could allow themselves to BE themselves in his presence. The courage to show him who we really are. An all forgiving God would accept us no matter who and what we are. That's why i don't believe in him.
Too many people waste their lives trying to impress. Trying to 'be good,' in doing right.
Don't you think that by trying too hard in one department you miss out on so many others? Imagine this is the only life you will ever get in the whole of existence and when you finally buy the farm there is nothing at all but nothing.
Which is why religion was invented in the first place.

I think the question should be...why do people feel the need to kneel before god. It reminds me of Wayne's World (we're not worthy, we're not worthy, lol). I think that most people feel frightened if they do not appease their creator, because they feel powerless as they think their creator holds the power to allow them to live or die. It's a very primitive way of thought. Cavemen used to do that when they feel threatened and think their survival depends on their appeasement of the forces of nature (hence the different deities ascribed to different forces of nature). Just because the religion is monotheistic does not mean that people are necessarily any more aware. All they've done is transfer their superstitious beliefs onto an institutioanlised religion.

Because the only god these people know was made up during a time of strict social traditions & where a stigma would be attached to anything that wasn't the norm.
Because their God has abandoned them for over 2000 years now, they have no updates that include subscribing to God texts for only 1/1000th of your soul per message of divinity.
:o) Now that's a grand idea - I bet god's kicking his all seeing self right now. Missed the boat on that one didnt ya?

Actually this is one of the major philosophical questions that theology cannot answer.Logic demands that a perfect being[which a definition of god must include];cannot desire or want anything because if it does need or want something, then by definition,it is logically impossible to be consided perfect.A perfect being needs and desires nothing by essence
The common concept of god used by religions is completely incoherent and could not exist. It's necessary properties that it must possess contradict each other and a contradiction cannot exist..

Hey, why did he need a human blood sacrifice - his own son at that - before he could forgive the current human population for two people eating an apple thousands of years before? He moves in mysterious ways!

He doesnt need you to kneel before him, you need to kneel becasue it keeps you humble. So many people have ego's and dont feel as though they owe anyone or God anything, since he created you and not the other way around you need to be meek and kneel to stay grounded. I often asked myself this question when I was in church but I realized people who dont humble themselves dont give and they loose their connection to there higher self and the godlike possibilites they can attain being his children. God is not a factor but he has undersatnding and requires you to learn how to bequiet and stand down on situations that he should personally(..lol divinely) handle.
The meek shall inherit the earth not the stuck up holier than thou people.

God doesn't need us to kneel before Him. In fact He doesn't need us at all. We need Him totally.
While you ask the question, may I add why do people kneel and bow before dignitaries, such as queens and presidents? They are only human like us. As humans they are equal to us so why bother. We do it out of respect, but in turn we also should be shown respect. If everybody respected and accepted each other we would be living in a much better world.

God does not need anything. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient.
Watch out for the person who told you that kneeling is needed. Most probably he will also tell you that God needs other things like sacrifices and the only way to give it to God is through him.

religion is purely man made concept for the dominence of the masses. god is purely a unique spirit and creator of the universe.
man dominates and enforces your question and concerns not god whom is not a human being.
we all need serious education and believe in thy self first and foremost before we believe in myth and legend.
i am an 80 year old gentleman and i truly believe in seeing is truly believing and until the day i personally meet god then hey ho there you go
have an excellent day
take very good care
kind regards
david
