If a boy gets high honors, doesn't his parent brag to his co-workers that his son has high honors?

Well i dont use mine to look proud.I know when kids do good in school of course the parent is going to brag about it.

Ofcourse silly..we have to brag..darn..mothers give birth to brainy children and children get their brains from the moms any way..we do feel proud as we can see that the child is a hard worker and not just drifting..we feel proud and you make us feel proud! It is good to tell others' but do not overdo it as then people will start avoiding parents who brag too much and all they talk about is their brainy kid! well done anyway and 10000 up to parents who are proud of their kids doing well..atleast they are not neglecting their kids' and their education and are showing an interest!!

Of course, it happens all the time. I know from direct experience.
First of all, my brother is 16 years younger than me, which makes him almost 7 years old, and believe me I know first hand what its like raising a child and its not easy. So what Im trying to say is that after all that hard work, you can't help but feel proud about you child after they get their high honors.
Second of all, i remember when i first got accepted into pre-med (I later on changed majors to business administration), what happened was that my parents bragged about me to everybody, and everybody started calling me "the doc," and i was sort of lured into pre-med...
To make the long story short; parents DO brag about their children, and theres a lot of reasoning to go with it.

Whats so Bad in that!!
They invested their life and money to raise the kids. Dont forget the pain of raising a child. Pregnancy and other situation like when the kids get sick.
Would you not brag your if father become the president of your country?

First - lots of people do things for different reasons. No way for us to know the motivations of the specific people to whom you refer. However, many times a parent brags about accomplishments of his children. Would you rather he be embarassed by it? Many times they do this because they are proud of the children - not because they want people to think wonderful things of the parents.

I never did... I can be pleased as punch for my kids, and be proud of them. I let THE KIDS know that how pleased i am for them.
Co workers? Probably not. Good friends? Perhaps so, if the conversation goes that way.

We don't use them to get bragging rights. That is not why people have children just a result that comes from having children.

It's a natural feeling.... Parents have kids so that their name and life is passed onto a prodigy.... They brag abt their kids becoz they believe that their kids are like another form of themselves...

Of course they brag so do I about my kids. I don't use my kids to make me look proud I am proud of my kids!

pictures are for greater advantageous than showing off. mum and dad use them to maintain information of ways their young ones have grown and altered and how they regarded at any given age. They coach them to others for an identical reason. young ones advance up so quickly, that's the only thank you to resign time and look after the 2d. after all, i think of all young ones are captivating of their own way.
