Why do all men say: "I am (45, 56, 49 and so on) but look ten years younger,?

when they look nowhere ten years younger, on the contrary, they look like their own fathers (if judge by the age they give, which may be false). Who are they trying to dupe this strange way?

As a man who never tries to hide my real age, or pretend to be younger, I can say this :
Some men like to believe that they are still young, and would also like others to believe that they are only as old as they claim ! But their lopsided lifestyle inevitably exposes them as mere physical and mental wrecks !
With women it is often the other way around : If they claim to be of a certain age, they'll at least ensure that they physically look that age - and get away with it too !

If you are referring to pics on Personals sites, I am often amazed by how OLD men who claim to be in their 40s and 50s appear to be in the pictures they post. Men who claim to be 5'9" or 5'10" are usually 2 to 3 inches off (and have the gall to insist that I must be about 6 feet tall when we meet). Meanwhile, every man I've ever had a conversation with or met through these things rags on and on about horror stories of meeting women who claimed to be younger and thinner than they actually were.

People on this sites truly deserve each other is all I can say. I hang out at bars now instead.

I am the complete opposite and normally say I am 59, 60, etc, but I know I look more like 80.

Goodness knows how old I'll look when I actually hit 80. Probably like Methuselah.
