After the initial investment it's cheaper. You actually sell electricity back to the electric company. Also think about it, you'll never have a power outage.

Solar is better because it uses the sun instead of fossil fuels to produce electricity.
It has many disadvantages, though. It is not very reliable like power from the electrical grid because in many areas that have a lot of cloudy days it doesn't work well, and of course doesn't work at night. It also takes a very large surface area of panels to produce much power because the energy from the sun is very little for each square foot of surface.
The disadvantages drive the cost of solar power installations up so high that most people cannot afford it because normal power is so cheap compared to it.

Solar is a renewable energy source, meaning that is isn't going to run out, as fossil fuels very soon will.

It's also a very clean, simply taking the energy from the sun and turning it into power to heat water or fuel our homes. Our current electricity source relies on burning fossil fuels, pouring tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and contributing to climate change.

Getting started with solar power can be expensive, but in the long run you will recoup your costs by cutting those electricity bills and possibly even selling energy back to the power companies.

Solar also stores energy and you're not dependent on the sometimes unreliable national grid. So, when everyone in your neighbourhood loses their electricity due to a power line going down, you'll be warm and well lit with your wonderful solar power!

This question is not only vague, but written in bad English; it should be ‘electrical power’.

Now what are you trying to ask? In it’s present form the question is as valid as asking why coal is better than a kettle.

Solar power in this country is about as useful as hydro-electric in the Sahara. Yes, of course it’s great to use free power, but there are few places in Britain where there is a cost benefit, and cost is a good reflection of the environmental resources required to produce the equipment. What this little island does have, on the corner of a large continent, are incredible tidal movements and masses of wind, the first of which has barely even started to be tapped, and exploitation of the second still lagging far behind our much less windy neighbours such as Germany.

Whilst our middle classes pat themselves on the back with the latest conscience-relieving notions and gadgets, the world’s energy demand escalates unabated.

Solar power is better than electricity because it is a natural source, meaning it has no negative impact on the earth. It is also a non deminishing source. It can be used by everyone without exploiting anyone.
No one can claim to be incharge of the source. It also does not produce by products or harmful gases.

1.Solar power is free - except the initial cost. 2. it is not going to be exhausted. The fuel that we use is exhaustable. 3.When we burn fuel, it emits carbon dioxide - a green house gas. (causes global warming) Solar power is pollutionless. 4. Solar power is usually converted into electricity before using it and hence offers same convenience as electricity.

you have put it somewhat wrong, I suppose...In the end it's always the electricity, the warming, the products that you can get from the solar power...My answer is: solar power is certainly one mighty source of energy and could therefore suit the humanity as replacement for most of CO2 emitting sources, like oil, coal etc...

For those tropical countries where water source used to produce electricity power is frequently adversely affected by low precipitation of rain while they can enjoy ample amount of sunlight. It is just ideal for solar power there

power is power dude!

i think you are trying to ask why solar power is better than power produced by conventional means.

the answer is that engineers are constantly trying to find ways to produce power as cheap as possible and using the least amount of natural resources.

solar power simply harnesses the power of the sun ( however cost to start up is relatively expensive).

solar power is renewable. but if you take yourself off the grid, you also will get a nice piece of chance at the end of the year from uncle sam, cause any power you don't use they have to buy.
