my goal is to hopefully enlist in OCS for navy after i get my BA in a semester. i know farsi and am heading toward the intelligence field.

my question is what are my chances?
what is should expect in OCS? in what areas should i start preparing in:mental, education, physical?

answering anyone of these would be helpful.

One: what's the degree in?

Two: what's your GPA?

Three: what other things do you bring to the table: sports, extracurricular activities, Leadership experience?

Four: are you wanting IWO(SIGINT) or INTEL(Analysis)?

Five: have you spoken to an Officer Recruiter( the Navy uses separate ones for Enlisted and Officer recruiting)

The Navy wants 3.5 or higher GPAs in hard sciences and engineering. this is especially true for Intel and IWO, as there will be a LOT of computers in your future. They also want well rounded people with a demonstrated ability to lead people, so a sport or two, as well as being active in the community and on campus are very important. Officers do NOT use language on a daily basis, so although it will be noted, your skills in Farsi will not be a deciding factor. I also assume you are a US citizen and will have no issues getting a Clearance: at least a Top Secret and probably need to be able to get higher than that.

OCS just got moved from Pensacola to Rhode Island. If it will continue to be run the same way, Marine DIs will teach you and work you to the ground. Expect lots of physical fitness stuff, and even more classroom stuff. attention to detail is paramount. expect head games. they are there for a reason.
