I have Steamed, Baked and Boiled Spaghetti Squash. Each way give the squash a little different flavor (and texture).

I wash it, poke it full or holes with a fork and put it in the microwave for about 8 minutes (depending on size). It is done when it is soft, but not mushy. Let cool for about 5-10 minutes and cut open to get the inside pulp out. I know it sounds crazy...but this has always been my preferred method for over twenty years. It works great and is quick! By the way, I make corn-on-the-cob (husks on) in the wave too. Just learned it, but it works great too!

Yes, for veggies, if you can boil it, then you can steam it.
Steam until fork tender.
