if meant as an appetizer, i would put out 5 or 6 pieces each for 10 people, and have plenty of other food items to chose from...

then again, if it is a meal, if they all show up, all love sushi, and all eat more than their fair share..... you might consider hiring a sushi chef....

it's bad when you have a lot of leftovers, and bad if you do not have enough. A very expensive idea for a party.

As a girl who LOVES her sushi, I usually eat two rolls of 8 pieces each when going to a sushi restaurant. If you take that into account, you'd need a total of 240 pieces.

It also depends on whether or not it's a dinner party and whether or not sushi is the main focus. If you're having something besides sushi, you probably won't need that many pieces. But in order to fully answer this question, I'd need to know what else you're having!

Figure 6-8 pieces per person... Split it into 2/3 normal, everyday, mild sushi, and 1/3 more experimental flavors.

This assumes that everyone you are inviting likes sushi, and that there will not be a whole bunch of other choices.

Per person:

1.5 hours of food – choose 5 items
2 hours of food – choose 7 items
3 hours of food – choose 10 items
4 hours or more – choose 14 items (meal replacement)
Advice from a real caterer who does this stuff every day.

I'm guessing these 15 people are your friends,so why would you feed them raw fish.assuming all 15 would even eat that stuff, how many would get sick,i will never understand why people would eat raw fish.cook them a good hamburger that would be safe.
