my mum has been going out with a man called martin for nearly four months now he is 42 and i am 16 but i totally fancy him and love him i dont know why im feeling like this please help

It's called infatuation, and you are at the age where it's pretty common to feel that way.

Like the others said, its probably infatuation. In any case, you shouldn't pursue the feeling cause nothing good can come out of it. Imagine the rift it'll cause between u and your mom, the gossip and rumours that'll be spread about him if he follows thru, the rift the 2 of you will have if he doesn't. Its better if u move on. Try looking at other guys your age (or maybe a couple years older, currently they might be a tad too immature).

when we are young, we are bound to feel this way towards grown-ups. We get attracted to people older than us, and we start imagining how it would feel like to be with them. Now i want you to know, its a stage, i passed through it as well. but you have to be very careful, some grown-ups will try and take advantage of you. Your young and this feelings most of the time you cant control them,they just come. but stay away from getting involved with older guys. This is your moms friend, girl its not right. Please control your emotions. make sure you dont let your emotions lead you astray. Find friends of your age and take your energy in that direction. At your age you have so much energy, make sure you take it in the right path. soon, you will grow up and you will look back (like i do) and laugh about it.

It's perfectly normal to be infatuated with someone at 16! It's not love though. Try to focus on something else and this will go away.

you are more than likely just confused hun, soon as you don't have a father around the home it's a case of you see him as a father figure and admire him not necessarily fancy him.
or it could be that you are looking for confirmation that you are liking the same men as someone. which is really common for our age, thats why alot of groups of friends fancy the same people.
