Are there any other things that are considered unacceptable by some people that Jesus never mentioned?

Please see my other question. Jesus NEVER mentioned spousal abuse. So the excuse that "Jesus never mentioned it so it must be okay" should no longer be used.

If I make some people angry with this, I apologize. Please don't misinterpret what I'm saying. I am NOT equating homosexuality with spousal abuse, so please don't read that into this whole thing. I'm just making what I believe is a valid point, and wondering if there are other things Jesus failed to mention.

Okay, the reason I'm using homosexuality is because it's the ONLY thing mentioned as unacceptable in the Bible that people try to justify.
They don't try to justify spousal abuse, animal abuse, rape, or any of that with the Bible. Why is that?

Okay, I'm no longer a christian, but here's what I understand.

Jesus said that the law was fullfilled, and the two greatest commandments were "to love god, and to love your neighbor as yourself." The idea was that by following those two simple commandments faithfully would mold your actions in a way that would please god.

Spousal abuse can easily be a violation of "love your neighbor". Which one does homosexuality violate?

No, actually people use the bible to justify all kinds of things that aren't really supported. Look at the war in Iraq. George W. said that God told him to "end the tyranny in Iraq". Yet, Jesus advocated pacifism. Jesus' pacifism also didn't seem to make a difference during the Crusades and Spanish Inquisition. "Turn the other cheek" got lost next to "Go out and convert people at any cost!"

Well, good question... I have to research after this, but assuming Jesus never did mention spouse abuse (and i think you're right, because I tried to look into this before), the Bible does mention to love your wife and respect her. That is your duty as a husband. Therefore spouse abuse is not okay.

By the way, I wouldn't say Jesus "failed" to mention anything - it's just hard to get the "whole picture". A lot of times you have to look into different parts of the scripture to find the opposite of what you're looking for in order to get an answer.

And I'm still researching and finding things... it's a progress and work and time. But it's worth it.

Abandonment is a specific legal term that is used to describe a situation where one spouse has left the marriage and/or the home, and they cannot be found, they have not provided support or have not had any contact with the other party in a year or more. Merely leaving the marital residence to avoid hostility or other negative circumstances is not abandonment. Abandonment occurs when a spouse ends cohabitation without justification, without the consent of the other spouse, and without the intent of renewing cohabitation. In many states, to be legally considered abandonment, the spouse has to leave for at least a year.

The BIBLE speaks of homosexuality being a sin! I dont get why people cannot see this. They only look to the letters in red- yes the letters in red are IMPORTANT and TRUTH just like EVERY OTHER VERSE in the bible! The entire bible is God breathed!
Ephesians 5:28
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

- This clears up that men should not BEAT their wives nor hit them.
Adultery too is clearly a sin in the Bible which not only Jesus speaks of, but in the OT it speaks of being a sin.
1 Corinthians 6 tells us whoever practices homosexuality will not inherit the kingdom of Heaven. (And in the OT it speaks of this being an abomination in God's eyes, also Romans1)

Jesus didn't need to address spousal abuse. God already addresses it through Paul in Ephesians 5:25-29. Husband love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it...Husbands ought to love their wives as their own body. Jesus didn't need to address homosexuality, God already addressed it in the old testament and called it an abomination. Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because of their wickedness. Jesus doesn't have to address every single issue, he only had his ministry for 3 yrs before being crucified. How many times does the Bible have to be redundant? Isn't once enough? Jesus came to fulfill the law, not do away w/ the old testament law.

Because those things are actually wrong.
