The Bible is silent on the issue of marital abuse as a reason for divorce, although it is obvious that God despises the mistreatment of wives by their husbands (Colossians 3:19, 1 Peter 3:7, Ephesians 5:25-33). Abuse should not be tolerated by anyone. No one should have to live in an abusive environment, whether it be from a family member, friend, employer, caregiver, or stranger. Physical abuse is against the law, and the authorities should be the first ones contacted if this occurs.

The only thing I can find in Jesus' own words was concerning marriage and divorce. The two become one flesh that no man is to seperate, except for immorality.
If the abuse cannot be stopped for whatever reason the answer is clear. Our society has deemed ANY FORM of spousal abuse IMMORAL and is punishable by law.
The abuser needs to look inward...pray..find out what it is that seperates them from their spouse and fix it! The abusee might already have the answer and too afraid to do anything.

Jesus simplified the 10 commandments into 2 more modern versions: 1) Love God above all and with your all 2) Love your neighbour as you love yourself.
Your spouse is your closest neighbour. Much as you don't put conditions when treating yourself, so the same applies to your closest partner, giving him/her what's best, without conditions. One should consider biblical verse "...and together they will live as one flesh". If one considers the other as an extension of his/her self, it is unthinkable even to contemplate to hurt the other., physically or emotionally. As you have deep self-respect, you have no reason not to show the same to your miror-better-half -image, your spouse. If, after all this light/ life/ love of the second commandment , you still can choose to hurt the other for whatever reason at all, take a look at your insecurities--- shame, shame ,shame.

Not sure if He did. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know spousal abuse is unacceptable.

I am assuming that when Jesus said turn the other cheek he was meaning everyone, including people that are married.

No, He didn't specifically mention not abusing.
He did however give instructions on how wives should be treated. "Husbands love your wives as Christ loves the church. ...treat them as the weaker vessels...etc.

Not really but wives should be submissive to the husband. If he is to violent he is disobeying God by not loving his wife like Christ loved the Church. Violence in Marriage is of the Evil one not of God.

There is a mention, I'm sure. I do know Jesus said, "No slave is greater than his master but, no master should mistreat his slave.
