i do agree it can be dangerous, i think an adult should accompany the kids and it should be people they know. Not only are people nuts but they can also be rude to kids and mean.

I think it is a dying tradition everywhere. On one hand it's a good thing since there are so many crazy people out there, on the other hand, it's sad that kids don't get to experience the fun we had trick or treating : (

There trying to do away with it all together around the whole USA, I mean when I was a kid, we would trick or treat on Halloween regardless if it was a school night or not and now kids do it on the weekends. They have runined the Halloween for everyone.

When I used to live in my family's apartment in Flatbush, we used to get trick or treaters all the time (that was until 1995).. When we moved out to Sheepshead Bay, we never got a single one and our neighborhood was pretty safe and had plenty of kids and families.. but never any trick or treaters..

Some parents will bring their children to visit only people they know very well. Unfortunately, there is good reason to be suspicious of strangers.
