not necessarily, it depends on the type of carbohydrate that is being consumed and the quantity. fortunately you have picked a very smart food to eat. lentils are high in fiber so they are low GI. a cup of lentils provides about 15 grams of fiber which is 50% of what you need daily. after digestion 1 cup of lentils will only net about 24 grams of carbs.
I'm a big fan of lentils they are my main carbohydrate source, they taste great, are totally healthy and so easy to cook. I also make various lentils soups for the gf so she can get more veggies in as well.

No. Carbs turn into sugar.
@John L : Listen kiddo... Sugar does not turn into fat you retard. Fat is fat and it has nothing to do with sugar...ok John LITTLE ? Carbs get split up into sugar and sugar is being transported to your blood. The purpose of sugar is to give a body physical energy. Fat is for example oil, butter, milk, natural fat on flesh and this kind of fat is being stored as fat. So, flathead... if you ever think you´re smart remember there´s always a smarter one ou there.
They say not to eat carbs because your body doesn´t burn the fat but goes for the carbs instead and just keeps on storing the fat. You know buddy... before you call other people idiot who know what they´re talking about you should go back to school and learn something or go and invest some money in books that´ll teach you.... doohhh

I really can't fathom worrying about a cup of lentils . if it were
processed carbs such as white rice or pasta or white bread I'd be concerned . if that's more than you think you can handle try some cardio excercises or fat blockers .

when your body burns energy, it usually burns off sugars and carbs first. after that they burn fat for energy. so what happens to the excess carbs that you dont end up burning? they are converted to fat for a future soucre of energy. I would also recommend eating carbs in the morning to provide energy for the day.

Use a vegetable bean dip like hummus instead of ranch dressing or perhaps a fatty cream-based dip.

Do your grocery shopping with a list and a moment limit; that way, you're not as likely to stray into the highly processed foods section.
