Pray about it and then let God figure it out. There are many passages in the bible that tell us not to worry. This does not mean to not concern yourself. It simply means to let God handle it and stop stressing about it.
Philippians 4:6 Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and then thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

It's just a phrase used to simplify an answer to a person's queries on their spiritual walk with Jesus Christ.I rarely use the phrase myself, unless including some type of advice or answer as well. The answers to all life's problems are in God's Word.No matter how much technology and culture changes, the human condition remains the same.Worrying is a common problem for most people,Believers and Secularists alike.I stopped worrying about finances and constant nitpicking in the workplace by employers by going to the Throne of Grace[read Hebrews] and asking for the answers and deliverance.Memorize James 1:2-8 and go over it when you start to worry. Then pray to God.Read Matthew 6:25-34 and understand that it applies to all of us throughout history.I haven't worried in over 17 years. And that doesn't mean I have riches or a wonderful career.I have a peace that passeth all understanding from God Almighty. You can have that peace as well.Remember,Christianity is reality,it is not a religion you join.

I feel that many of the previous answers are very accurate. I'll add something. Have you looked for Gods answer? Maybe He has answered you but you haven't been looking.or noticed it.Observe what is going on around you. Look at others that may have had the same sort of problem, what did they do that helped them? What aren't they doing? I have heard that God answers prayer three ways-yes, no, wait. Maybe you have been given an answer that you didn't want to hear. ... but maybe not. Have you read the Bible and looked for places where your problem might be addressed? Maybe the answer is in the Bible but you just haven't read it. There are tons of Christian books, articles, etc. Look some of them over and see if your problem is addressed there. You might want to talk to a well informed person such as a major denomination pastor and ask him/her for help/direction in this matter.

Simply put it means that when you have task or a job in hand, put your best in to it .As for the outcome is concerned ,leave it to God.Now,when you have outcome, analyze it to learn lessons or correctives to apply but don't gloat over the success or agonize over the failures(The result part being in the domain of God).In eastern philosophy,it's called KARMA YOGA and has found wide acceptance world over in the business and corporate world. It's not only a great stress reliever but also saves us from anxieties ,worries and much more thus protecting a vast space of our mental capabilities.

Hope you ask the only true God in prayer being truthful and let the worries, all the problems be turned over by asking him that it is more than you can bare and only by his help you know that he can give comfort and what may be his will you ask for.
Your Brother Tim here will be praying for you Sister

It means turning whatever you are holding onto over to God. Let go of the worrying, the pain, the agony, etc. that is a lot easier to say then to actually do though. We are brought up to have control over our lives and sometimes it is hard to relinquish it to God. Pray about it. Peace

You've probably gotten all the answers you care to read, but I felt I should put in my understanding too.
When someone says they are turning it all over to God, I would hope they mean they are changing their prayers from the kind that ask for certain things, favors or blessings, and replace those with asking to understand what our Father in Heaven wants for us in our lives. We're not all going to live in Beverly Hills. Not that you would even want that, but many times our prayers (mine included) end up asking for a lot of "things" we think we need and don't spend nearly as much time thanking our Father in Heaven for the blessings we already have.
In addition to thanking him for those things we already have, we need to ask him what he wants for us. When the Savior was going to be crucified said, "let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."
If we can have this same perspective on life, I think it helps us understand that there are a lot of really good people right around us who bless us just by being a part of our lives. We don't need to search any further to find happiness.
I think it is equally important to understand that Satan would like us to fail in this endeavour. He will cast doubt in our way and try to lead us down a path that will lead to failure. We must be confident in what we know to be right and wrong and not let Satan confuse us. You can know whether or not something is of God by asking if it is right or wrong. If you know it's right, then it is of God and you can act on the promptings you've received with the confidence that it is what our Father in Heaven wants for you.
I could go on, but I'll leave you alone.

well the reason you obsess over something is because you want to get it right or want it perfect i'm guessing. If you believe in Jesus and you believe that he was gods son or god in a way than you are already perfect to god because Jesus died on the cross to save us, or clean us of our sins, so its more turn it on to Jesus than it is god, god will always see that you've lead a perfect life because Jesus is shielding you of your sin. I'm not sure if thats better or even more confusing but i hope that helps.
you just need to trust in Jesus and god and in yourself.

It helps to do it out loud, but what I do is this:
I picture all the problems in my life (there are many right now, lol) while I'm praying. Then I tell God that I'm giving it all to Him, and for Him to help me trust in Him, that He'll do what's right. I ask Him to give me peace.
Sometimes it helps to actually imagine each problem as a burden that you're laying at the feet of God's throne, to actually SEE it in your mind's eye.
One of those two things usually help me...I hope they help you.
