I just accept the existance of God as a postulate. Its just something that I assume to be true. Life is a lot like geometry. We make assumptions and then follow those assumptions to see what other kinds of things we can "prove" based on them. There are many kinds of geometry, but all are based on basic fundamental assumptions. Based on the assumptions that I've made about God and God's nature, I'm now a pantheist. I believe that the universe is divine and is a necessary extension of God's own existance. I believe that all things express some part of God's ultimate and perhaps inconceivable nature. The real question is whether or not you could make different fundamental assumptions and then proceed to "prove" the existance of God. Assumptions that might be more believable to some people than "God exists".

Here are a couple of reasons to believe...
#1 If there is no God, we will come to an end quite soon, and I believe with faith that there is something better than this.
#2 The fascinating facts of science that life does not spring from non-living matter, and energy over time decays supports the facts that as living creatures, we get old and eventually die, we don't go through any form of macro-evolutionary process and become something superior...mutated species become extinct because of the fact that in nature, only the strong survive--survival of the fittest is a fact of Creation...except where human beings who are made in the image of God are concerned...we are the only created creature that was made in His image, and we are the only creation that can overcome our environment by technology etc.

1. Creation demands a creator. If I arrange apples in a row, you naturally know someone did that. A design shows that there's a designer. A building shows that there must be a builder. Sophisticated complex order instead of chaos in the universe shows intellect behind it. Even Darwin admits that evolution cannot explain the complexity of an eye. The millions of cells coordinating to form an image is miraculous, especially if it all came by chance.
2. Over 30% of the Bible are prophecies. Hundreds were fulfilled in the life of Jesus in his birth, life, death and resurrection such as Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53 which describes Jesus's death on the cross a thousand years before crusifixtion existed. Prophecies show the supernatural nature and the truth behind them.
3. The law of Moses shows how sinful we are and bring us to Christ. Have you lied? Stolen? You know that you've broken some law above and beyond yourself. The law is written in your heart. And you know that you're not right with God.
4. Your conscience bears witness that you were not made by accident but by a creator. Listen to it. Every religions out there ask, "How do I get right with God?" Everyone except Christianity says we do upon our own merit or works so that God owes us for us to enter heaven. Christianity says we're not perfect, but we get to go to heaven because of the merit and virtue of another, Jesus Christ, paying for the penalty of my sins so that we can be free to enter heaven when Jesus gives us His righteousness upon our repentance and faith in Him.
5. Archaeology and History confirms the existance of Jesus. Over 500 witnesses bears witness to Jesus being with them after the crusifixtion. The letters from the apostles encouraged doubters to seek out the witnesses who were still alive to confirm the true witness. In fact, many died for the truth; they wouldn't have if it was a lie. Jesus's enemies, Pharasees, Sadducees, professional Roman soldiers would have made sure Jesus was dead, but Jesus rose as prophesied by Jesus on the third day.
Either Jesus was a liar, lunatic or He was telling the truth. Jesus said, he is the only way. That He is the son of God, the messiah prophesied by every prophet. Investigate and you decide.

All Lewis did, there, was confirm Freud's theory. A little imagination can go a long way. You, however, need to ask yourself "Why" you can't decide. Only you know what's important to you. I personally, don't believe, either...but, that's my free will talking, there.

John 10:27 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Psalms 146:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. 2 While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. 3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. 5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: 6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever: 7 Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners: 8 The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous: 9 The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. 10 The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.

A age old question asked throughout the ages. If you had a personal relationship, you would KNOW without a shadow of a doubt. But, I believe it is up to us to convince God to believe in His world, and in us, for our world to be a real world.
Seek Him while He can still be found, seek with all your heart, pray for wisdom & it will be given to you. Believers don't need to be convinced, nor try to convince others who lack a desire for Spiritual things. I leave others to see what they logically can see & explain away in this life. I have Faith in Christ Jesus to guide me through life and beyond this life. This much I know to be true, it is a very real relationship for me. I have been to Spiritual places that are but a foretaste of the glories to come. I will not deny, I can not deny what I know to be TRUE, even if it meant death to this body.Many have died before, for not denying the existance of God. Would you die for your belief in nothing to end in nothing?

I think it's ultimately a pointless question since there's so many wildly divergent definitions on what constitutes a 'god'. Some say he's an anthropomorphic old man who speaks Hebrew and interferes with history. Others say he's a glowing ball of light that radiates love rays. Others say that Nature herself is god. Others like Einstein and Spinoza say god is synonymous with the laws of physics that govern the universe.
In other words, there's so many mutually exclusive definitions of god that 'Is there a god' is something of a non-question...

From the Old Testament alone, more than 2000 specific prophesies have been fulfilled.
No other so called Holy book compares.Most of the 333 prophesies concerning the Messiah were fulfilled by the birth and life of Jesus Christ and the rest will be fulfilled at His second coming. A mathematician, Peter Stoner, had his graduate students calculate what the odds would be of any one person fulfilling just eight of these prophesies. He found the chance was one in 100,000,000,000,000,000 !Only a God who knows the future could have revealed these prophesies to those that He would have record them in His Word.
In spite of what is being taught today, the truth is we can reconstruct most of the life of Jesus Christ through non - Christian writers of the first century. Even Celsus who despised Christianity, never considered claiming that Jesus Christ did not exist.This is what can be learned from the writing of Celsus...
He was born of a virgin in a small village of Judea;
He was adored by wise men;
His birth was followed by the slaughter of infants by order of Herod;
He took flight to Egypt, where Celsus supposed Christ learned the charms of the Magicians;
After returning, He resided in Nazareth;He was baptized and the Holy Spirit descended on Him as a voice was heard from heaven;
He elected disciples;
He was a friend with publicans and other low people;
He cured the lame and blind;
He raised people from the dead;
He was betrayed by Judas;
He was denied by Peter;
In addition Celsus refers to several details of Christ's passion, crucifiction, and resurrection.
Twenty seven books of the New Testament, nineteen Pagan writers, and three Jewish writers testify to Jesus Christ's historical reality. When I hear people say that Jesus or the Bible is just a myth I just realise that they are simply unaware of the facts.I recommend The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel and or Skeptics Answered or The Gate Of Hell Shall Not Prevail by D. James Kennedy, and The Signature of God by Grant R. Jeffrey. May all your thoughts be taken captive by the Holy Spirit. Amen.

There isn't definite evidence to prove that god exists or that he doesn't exist. I do believe that one day, the answer can finally be answered.
