It's the only way to get to heaven. Consider this, Everyone that has ever lived has also died....everybody! Not one single person has, or will, escape death. Jesus Himself was a good guy, what happened to Him at a relatively young age? We shouldn't expect everybody to live to be 110 and on "easy street". Our lifetime is fleeting. We can't fully comprehend how long forever is. Forever is how long we will be in Heaven. Picture one tiny grain of sand. Lets say that that grain of sand represents 100 years. How many grains of sand are there in Florida? There probably isn't a number large enough to equal the number of grains of sand in Florida, and that's just Florida. Add all the other grains of sand from all over the world, each grain equaling 100 years. Heaven will last longer than that. You will see those good people again and the next time it will be in Heaven where there will be no such thing as death, sickness, depression, war, etc. etc. Death is just a short intermission from life to eternal life. It isn't over by a long shot.

I'm guessing that's not your actual question. Is it that someone you know has passed away and you are questioning whether God cares? He does! He created each and every person. The Bible says that He knew us while we were still in our mother's womb. He loves us so dearly that He sent His own SON to DIE in our place. There is no one that is good (someone who never sinned in any way) except God. God Himself died in our place. So would God, the only GOOD person to ever live, let a good person die? Yes, He let the only Good person, His own Son, die in our place. He did it for us so that we might have a hope and a future. Hang in there. Present your questions to God. Let Him show you answers and comfort your grief. God cares, even when we question Him and don't understand His ways.

not that I believe in God, but if there is one then he can do whatever he wants. And if it is his design for people to only live for a limited period of time and then pass on, then that's his plan. If God and heaven are real, then "letting people die" is not a bad thing because the people go to heaven.

And even if there is no God and death is non-existence, that's still not really a bad thing because you won't exist to say "aw man, this sucks, I'm dead".

If people lived forever, then the world be overpopulated really quickly. And if you never died, then you'd have to just keep living for ever and ever, which means that trillions of billions of years would go by and you'd still have zillions and zillions more to go. And then once all that time passed, you'd still have zillions of millions of billions of years left ahead and it would never end and you'd get bored and all of your accomplishments would eventually become "old news" but you'd just keep on living and your life would be endless and pointless.

Death gives meaning to life by giving you a deadline (literally) by which to get things done. And it makes you appreciate life because you know you won't be able to have it forever.

Obviously because being good is not a requirement for survival in this life. I have thought about things a lot in my life, I have asked this question inside over and over again. I came to the conclusion that life is special. Any day we can die, we see it happen to people all the time. This is why it is important to be grateful for the little time we have on this Earth. This is why we never forget the dead and they should live inside our hearts for ever.

Death is the one thing we all have in common. Every living thing will die. Good, bad, old, young. I understand your questioning, but perhaps that person had something worse than death in store and He rescued him.
I've lost a lot of family, close family. I will see them again. Most of them I know were prepared, I am not positive of others, but hopeful.

"You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!" [Psalm 139:16]

"The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the simple-hearted; when I was in great need, he saved me. Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. For you, O Lord, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living...How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord, in the presence of all his people. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." [Psalm 116]

Well... that's because there is no god and no devil.

People are born, live, and die. Good, bad, doesn't really matter.... we all eventually die.
