I don't think that Splenda will ferment. If it does, the Splenda will feed the yeast quite differently and the taste will not be anything close to what you would expect.
Normally, about 90% of the sugar is consumed by the yeast within the first 3-5 days, so the initial fermentation should take about 10 days or so, watching for the Specific Gravity to stabilize and not change for a couple consecutive days.
If you try Splenda, I would do a small (1 gallon) batch so as not to waste too much good wine.
Good luck!

You don't sweeten the wine until it is done fermenting. Then you also mix in some potassium sorbate and it will keep the "new " sugar from fermenting.

Try going to eckraus.com. You can get all kinds of wine making items there and basic starter kits. Once you get rolling, you can make some very good wines that are ready to drink in as little as four weeks. If you have free bottles, the cost is about 3 dollars a bottle for finished wine.

Yes, sucralose tastes different than sugar. Even in wine, when you're drunk on you tail, it has that terrible aftertaste. And unlike sugar, which participates in fermentation, sucralose just sits there, doing nothing.

Fermentation stops when there's no more sugar, or when there's so much alcohol that it kills off the yeast.

Use sugar not that other stuff.. Sugar will be almost gone after fermentation, but will not stop if you were to add more sugar it will start to ferment again.. they want die unless you add something to kill them .. check your wine recipe..
