Interesting, the Elder Edda (the Norse Heathen Bible) says that man and woman were created from and Ash tree and an Elm tree, respectively.

i have never heard of this... but of course christianity believes that made was made from a handful of dirt that was breathed upon by God to form man. i am sure that you are trying to prove or disprove a religion? and i can only say to you that there are so many religions and beliefs that have similarities.... it would be just pointless to compare and to argue them... basically , i wonder what makes who right? there is no way to prove nor disprove any theory that is out there, and if they are all so similar anyways, why argue? it is just an endless battle. : )

Actually the Maya believed the Sun was their father and the moon was their mother.

What similarities to atheism do you see in that?

just proves bible way of things. nothing more.

creation story gained myths and traditions as people moved away from god. basics remained though - this is why in most of the religions there is a flood story, resurrection, etc etc.

bible does describe correct events
