In today's courts a wittiness or 2 or more is very compelling evidence, in fact people's life or death, freedom or imprisonment ride on it.
My question is this, If the apostles who bare wittiness to seeing Jesus, seeing his miracles, seen him crucified , seen his Resurrection (placed thier hands in his nail scared hands)and to bear wittiness of all this to the price of thier own Horrific Deaths, with nothing to gain monetary on earth should this not be compelling evidence that He was indeed The Son of God?
Why would they spin such a lie, lose the rights to worship in the Jewish Temple be disowned by their love one's and the final reward a Horrific Death, if they did not eye wittiness this?
and there was more then 1 or 2 wittiness.
In a court of Law today this kind of evidence would be taken and judged to be true. So shouldn't those who want evidence relise it has been given?
Read just one testimony of the Apostels say:

1 John 1
1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ
Thank you for answering.

Absolutely. As you say there is plenty of evidence. And as in a court case it's the preponderance of the evidence that the verdict is derived from. It would absolutely make no sense for these men to be persecuted, attacked and go to their death for a lie. Human nature goes against it. Some wouldn't even die for the truth much less a lie. Think about it, before Christ rose from the dead and they were witness to His Resurrection they were cowered away hiding out in an upper room. Where did the boldness come from to boldly speak the Gospel in the face of all that persecution? It came from seeing Christ crucified and risen from the dead. They knew what they had seen and they knew if they were killed they were going to heaven to be with the Lord. There are mountains of evidence for the birth death and Resurrection of our Lord if one cares to look for it.
From the Old Testament alone, more than 2000 specific prophesies have been fulfilled.
No other so called Holy book compares.Most of the 333 prophesies concerning the Messiah were fulfilled by the birth and life of Jesus Christ and the rest will be fulfilled at His second coming. A mathematician, Peter Stoner, had his graduate students calculate what the odds would be of any one person fulfilling just eight of these prophesies. He found the chance was one in 100,000,000,000,000,000 !Only a God who knows the future could have revealed these prophesies to those that He would have record them in His Word.
In spite of what is being taught today, the truth is we can reconstruct most of the life of Jesus Christ through non - Christian writers of the first century. Even Celsus who despised Christianity, never considered claiming that Jesus Christ did not exist.This is what can be learned from the writing of Celsus...
He was born of a virgin in a small village of Judea;
He was adored by wise men;
His birth was followed by the slaughter of infants by order of Herod;
He took flight to Egypt, where Celsus supposed Christ learned the charms of the Magicians;
After returning, He resided in Nazareth;He was baptized and the Holy Spirit descended on Him as a voice was heard from heaven;
He elected disciples;
He was a friend with publicans and other low people;
He cured the lame and blind;
He raised people from the dead;
He was betrayed by Judas;
He was denied by Peter;
In addition Celsus refers to several details of Christ's passion, crucifiction, and resurrection.
Twenty seven books of the New Testament, nineteen Pagan writers, and three Jewish writers testify to Jesus Christ's historical reality. When I hear people say that Jesus or the Bible is just a myth I just realise that they are simply unaware of the facts.I recommend The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel and or Skeptics Answered or The Gate Of Hell Shall Not Prevail by D. James Kennedy, and The Signature of God by Grant R. Jeffrey. May all your thoughts be taken captive by the Holy Spirit. Amen. God bless!!!

It is evidence enough His tomb being vacant three days after His death.
His tomb was heavily guarded & sealed due to the Pharisees & chief priests telling Pilate that if He wasn’t found in the tomb the third day people would believe Him to be the Son of God.
Can’t you imagine the announcements & excitement affirming Jesus a fraud if He was in the tomb on the 3rd day?
Matthew 27:
62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

my prediction:
people will say that it's just a story someone made up so that everyone else will follow some rules. the problem here is that biblical law often goes against the accepted morality of a culture, or even the written law of a government. for instance, both the greeks and romans demanded that their citizens essentially worshipped their rulers. this is a far cry from what we are comanded in the bible.
there will be other reasons given; people will say that all the stories about the martyrs were made up to keep the rest of us obedient, and so forth, but you and i know the truth, don't we?

yes it's somewhat compelling but isn't authoritative, but eyewitness accounts, which can be wrong, would have to be weighed in accordance with other evidences, to be established as truth.
Your question sounds like an argument from "The Case for Christ" (by Lee Stobel) and "Evidence that Demands a Verdict." (by Josh McDowell).
"Evidence" was a book written by a journalist about how he came to to the truth about Christ, as he was seeking to disprove the Bible, and the accounts of the resurrection as illogical and fabricated. He tested the Word according to as if it would or would not stand in a court of law.
I bought the one book at a yard sale a few years ago. It's very thorough. I am Christain, but extrememly objective, and too analytical which sometimes causes me issues. But, if something is not rational or logical, or there is no evidence to back it up, i usually dismiss it as false. I thought both books were decent.
Also, erm... the basics of the system/means of trying and determing the vaidity eyewitness accounts as per testimony, is discussed in the book of Leviticus, among others (like Numbers and Deuteronomy) LOL. You'd be surprised at what's in the Bible as far as conduct in "legal proceedings' lol. And it's interesting that there are parallels in some circumstances between it, and what is standard in the courts of today.
**** EDIT: I believe this is the verse you are referring to, Mat 18:16 But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' **cross reference Deut 19:15 - 21
Deu 19:15 One witness is not enough to convict a man accused of any crime or offense he may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. vs16 If a malicious witness takes the stand to accuse a man of a crime, vs17 the two men involved in the dispute must stand in the presence of the Lord before the priests and the judges who are in office at the time vs18 The judges must make a thorough investigation, and if the witness proves to be a liar, giving false testimony against his brother, vs19 then do to him as he intended to do to his brother. You must purge the evil from among you.
vs20 The rest of the people will hear of this and be afraid, and never again will such an evil thing be done among you. vs21 Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
**also: here's some other verses of interest:
Lev 5:1 “ ‘If a person sins because he does not speak up when he hears a public charge to testify regarding something he has seen or learned about, he will be held responsible.
Exd 23:7 Have nothing to do with a false charge and do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty.
Exd 22:2 "If a thief is caught breaking in and is struck so that he dies, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed;
Pro 25:18 Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow is the man who gives false testimony against his neighbor.
Pro 24:28 Do not testify against your neighbor without cause, or use your lips to deceive.
Pro 29:24 The accomplice of a thief is his own enemy; he is put under oath and dare not testify.
Exd 22:9 In all cases of illegal possession of an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any other lost property about which somebody says, 'This is mine,' both parties are to bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges declare* guilty must pay back double to his neighbor.
*Isa 29:20 The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down—
Isa 29:21 those who with a word make a man out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice.
there's a TON more, specific, but due to space, and time (as i'm rather tired lol) these ought to be sufficent. Good question though.

Proof that Jesus is the Son of God:
- Jesus was prophesied years before His birth.
- An angel announced Jesus conception (the overshadowing of God`s Holy Spirit of Mary`s womb)
- mother Mary was lead to safety whenever there`s death threat everywhere for her to give birth of the Savior safely.
- when Jesus was presented to the temple, a blind old man/woman confirm that He is the Son of God.
- without thorough study...at 3-7 yrs old, Jesus argue with the scholars about the bible truth & principle.
- during Jesus baptism, heaven open and tell everyone along with Jesus, that He is my dearest Son.
- during Jesus 3 years ministry, God grant Him power to perform heavenly miracles which only God and His Son can do it...commanding the nature!
- Jesus teach us a prayer "Our Father" and teach us how to pray to God in Heaven. This is heavenly prayers which the Almighty Father wants His people to say.
- during Jesus prayer ar the Garden of Eden, God the Father appear again to Jesus to appease Him...that to go on with the Father`s plan (Jesus mission to undergo sacrifice & sufferings until death for few days) will benefit the whole world population for centuries until the end of time. They can save souls from this acts which will defeat the dark ruler of this world, show death & rising of Jesus body & spirit... the essence to everyone that we all have a spirit which is more important than the physical body and give glory to the Father God in Heaven.
- Jesus seal a new covenant with God and men during His time.
- and many more proof...and everything is a proof that Jesus is a God, comes from God in heaven.
So, good luck in searching more of the truth!
