I'll give you a few great tips that have always sent my colds on the run:

First of all, the old cliche chicken soup is a fantastic thing to feed yourself. It is warm, it is high in sodium content which is detrimental to your bacterial infection, and it is somewhat light so that you're not investing a huge amount of energy in digestion while at the same time satisfying your appetite.

Second of all, this is guaranteed to eliminate that sore throat of yours: Get yourself some lukewarm water, mix in a couple spoonfulls of salt, gargle, spit out, repeat. After two or three gargles, your sore throat will be gone, works like a charm.

Thirdly, consume as much water as you possible can. If you're able, fill up a gallon jug and just sip from it whenever you are physically able. Drink like a fish. You should be urinating at least twice an hour. You should only need to do this for a day or two.

Fourthly, find a way to consume Vitamin C. If you have oranges or orange juice in your house, perfect. If you have vitamin C tablets, even better, consume one every couple hours.

Fifthly, this may sound gross but if you have your own sink, blow your nose in running water. Too many tissues can degrade the skin underneath your nostrils making it easier for microbes to survive in that region.

Sixthly, RELAX, treat yourself like a little baby when you're at home. Find yourself a nice cushy location and allow yourself to drift off while reading or watching TV.

You may have heard all of these before, but I hope that they help nonetheless, good luck!

Breathing steam is great for colds. Boil some water, then put a towel over your head and breathe in the steam for 5 minutes. Besides getting a great facial, it helps clear out the nose. A lot of studies show that the common colds are caused by viruses in the nose, and the steam helps to at least keep symptoms at bay.

I add tons of pepper to what I'm eating, it helps loosen everthing up and gets it all flowing in your nose and throat (gross I know) I find hot soup works well, coat it with lots of pepper and enjoy. Plus I also make sure that in the morning I clear my throat really well and get up anything that was sitting there all night. Orange juice is nice too, I don't know if it really works but it makes me think it does, kind of comforts me...
And if that doesnt' work, try a nasal spray for your stuffy nose. 2 squirts of Otravin should work. Good luck!

I'm currently 10 weeks and have had a stuffy nose and sneezing for for the past 5 or 6 weeks. It is awful. But I think it is finally starting to go away. I didn't start getting those symptoms until after I had missed my period though.

Chicken soup, Dayquil and diet sprite, (as told on South park, but very true) also take vitamins and zinc, and get a big box of puffs plus.
