If you are saying an answer that cannot be proven scientifically than I suppose its okay to give a supernatural explanation for something you don't understand. After all, that is how all religion came to be. Man didn't understand something, like existence, so he came up with a "GOD" theory. Must have been a divine being right? Then as time goes on, we find out that the world isn't flat, that you aren't sick in the blood, so if you bleed out all the poison then you will get better, that just because you can swim DOESN'T mean you are a witch...but I think you get my point.

Any scientific answer is based on hard evidence. That's what science is- arriving at conclusions from seeing evidence that demonstrates that the conclusion is probably true.

Supernatural answers are usually based on myths or someone's claims or some event that happens for which people have not really solved why or how it happened.

So to answer your question, I'll ask you a question:

If you walked into your kitchen and saw that the cookie jar was empty and there were footprints leading from the area of the cookie jar to your kid's bedroom and you know from first-hand experience that your kid loves cookies... would it be better to believe that your kid took the cookies or that God made your cookies disappear as punishment for eating meat last Friday?

In a sense, yes. Answers based on scientific reasoning - or reason or empiricism in general - are subject to robust methodologies that may be replicated and generally test hypotheses that are falsifiable. These concepts - reproducability and falsifiability - are important in defining an objective reality. It is generally assumed that an objective reality is closer to "true" reality than subjective realities.

However, one failing of scientific empiricism is that it is limited by the set of tools we have for investigation. One reason why this is a failing is that it is probably true that the human mind is capable of perceiving much more than we can measure at the present. Or, at least, it is unknown whether this is the case. To this end, it is my opinion that it is very important to keep an open mind about what reality holds. I have found that in my research, studies and experiences that there are many things that are unknown to science at one time only to be revealed later through better methods. To simply dismiss things that we do not understand as nonsensical because they do not stand up to contemporary scientific inquiry is also small-minded, I believe.

Scientific natural answers could be proven. Could you say the same thing for supernatural ones?

Depends on where the answer comes from. The scientific natural answer cannot explain everything. If you start with a biblical basis, then you can answer a lot of questions including the ones that came from God. Since science is given to us by God, reason tells us that you will find the answers through God. After all the bible says wisdom comes from the fear of God.

Not always. I mean, I try to figure out a scientific explanation for something before I delve into supernatural forces, but yeah.

If you want reliable technology then yes a scientific answer is required. I know of no technology based on faith or the supernatural.

There's a paradigm shift to faith or supernatural concepts to explain our reason for existence but beyond that explanation there's no utilitarian use for such information other than getting people to be nice to one another.

Yes absolutely....a science based answer can be questioned, debated and even later on changed if evidence supports the alternate answer......but supernatural beliefs and answers must be followed without question or else suffer the "supernatural" consequences.

Scientific answers are better for scientific questions, like "how did new species replace earlier species throughout the history of life on Earth?". Spiritual answers are better for spiritual questions, like "how did the universe come into existence from nothing"?.

the more science learns--the more they seem to be getting equal-since Haman's have the imagination to come up with scientific-questions and the research--the question-and on other life forms on earth does this--That within it's self--is supernatural--and leave me aha struck when i think about it-seems like everything humans do is ether supernatural--or comes from a supernatural source it seem to me--you really put yourself in an awfully lonely universe
