I agree and I've thought the same thing myself. Kinda sad, isn't it? It's like we're our own "Kid Nation" and we're killing ourselves.

B/c the ppl you know may just be that way...or there's a fear of violence if you're face to face with someone. Sometimes, a person just cares more about whether they hurt anyone's feelings-whether it's b/c they're flirting with you or not. Amazingly, there are times when you just like someone, even if there is no intention at all of this peson being a significant other.
Group psychology is different than writing to a computer.

I for one do not like getting e-mail from some of the morons on these boards because I said something they disagree with. I consider it an invasion of privacy and it's downright rude as well. I really wish that option was not on the forums.
Milani have you ever seen "Forbidden Planet"? What you describe is what happened to the Krell when their minds were all linked to a giant machine.

This is the Internet. I wouldn't assume differently of Y!A just because you met a few good people in real life.

Some people think that the anonymity of the Internet gives them free license to be hateful jerks to people that don't share their beliefs and opinions.

I don't know that they (we?) are... but sometimes things come across in writing as meaner than they might actually were meant to be.
It's hard to say when you also can't view a person's facial expression and body language.
I haven't encountered "meanness," but there sure are some STRONG viewpoints being expressed, huh?!

I like to think that I am honest. I am one of the nicest persons you ever met. Religion is being discussed here. How many people discuss it in real life? I don't discuss it with anyone, so this is it for me.

Don't you wish you can read people's mind in real life? Now this is it. If we all have telekinesis, then we would be in constant warfare.

I'm always nice in real life and I get sick of it. I have to vent.
