Does anyone know a good jeet kune do academy, institute, dojo ect I can go to. With the original concept of jeet keen do?
Can you tell me the closest ones you know incase you know one closer then the results I have found thanks. I live in washington heights, NY manhattan

I have a friend who teaches in Dallas, but that won't help you in NY.

As far as I know, only Dan Inosanto, Taky Kimura and James Lee(deceased) were certified by Bruce Lee to teach Jeet Kune Do. Ted Wong, Jesse Glover and all their other contemporaries studied the original Jun Fan JKD under Bruce but weren't certified. So your best bet for learning the original concept would be Dan Inosanto or Taky Kimura. Most of the other known JKD instructors like Paul Vunak teach JKD concepts which is an offshoot of the original teachings based on their particular field of martial arts, meaning JKD principles applied to the individual martial art they practice. For example, a jujitsu guy will teach you JKD concepts based on Jujitsu, same with a Muay Thai guy and so forth.

If you have researched your area, then apparently there might not be a truly qualified instructor. Finding a legitimate Jeet Kune Do instructor in any area is difficult. I suggest researching literature and videos to purchase and studying on your own. Even though some instructors have good intentions, learning any style from anyone else except the originator of that style, you are actually learning their interpretation of what they have learned, including their own personal philosophy. Try learning on your own and find a good partner to learn and practice with you.

I agree. It is very difficult to find a school.
