Well, it depends.Did the dog have rabie shots or vaccination??Don't panic but it's best that you take the girl to the doctor and let the doctor check it out.And if your English Springer keeps on nipping at other people or biting.I would recommend that you search online or go get a book that teaches you, what to do to stop your dog from biting.

Assuming she's okay, the dog's okay, and you've been able to separate the dog out away from the situation, I'd suggest calling a trainer first thing tomorrow morning to evaluate the situation. I see a lot of cases where people get very freaked out by what I can see is very normal or justifiable dog behavior, and I've seen other cases where the dog *seems* to be a perfect dog most of the time but I can tell that there is a serious bite waiting to happen. It's very possible that the dog was put into a situation where felt that he needed to defend himself (whether justified or not -- if you are scared of snakes and I drag you in a closet with a bunch of very safe, non-venomous snakes and you hit me in the face in your efforts to get out, I can't really get upset and call you an aggressive person). It's also very possible that the dog is a future bite risk and should not be put in certain situations (i.e. around small children, given great bones when visitors come over, etc).
A trainer who is experienced with aggressive behavior can evaluate your dog and give you a much better idea of what to expect from this dog and what you can all do to help

hmmm....if the girl is bleeding or has bite marks you should definetly show your grandparents and her parents they'll know what to do! My dog, who i have had since Januray, is only 9 months old and he just recently started biting last month but i am working on the problem by making 'yelping noises' so he knows its not ok because thats exactly what dogs do in packs and stuff so once he realizes IT IS NOT OK OR NATURAL. About the problem with your little sisters friend tell her its ok and the dog just needs to be trained a little or something...
Hope i helped. : )

Tell your grandparents immediately and let them know what happened. lf you know the whole story or were there, then tell them the details, then let them deal with it as far as telling the friend's parents and getting the girl medical attention if necessary. Since you say she's ok, if may have just been a warning bite if the friend was messing with the dog.

Calm down. put the dog in another room and shut it in check the grl and the site of the bite. If there is broken skin go to the sink put it in running water for a minute then use a towel and put pressure on the area of the wound to stop bleeding it quickly Call who ever you were instructed to and have them come home.

Try to stay calm, if you're freaking out you're going to scare your sisters friend. Take deep breaths and try to relax. Put the dog in another room or outside so that it won't bite again.
If there are puncture wounds where the teeth broke the skin they need to be cleaned really well. Put on Bactine or something like that if you have it. Put bandaids on the wounds or put gauze and tape instead.

Well what was the friend doing? Not all dog bites are neccessarily the dog's fault, esp. if it was provoked.
Definitely make sure it doesn't get infected, though. After that, just wait and see.
Obviously if the friend was pulling the dog's tail and being a general dumbshit, it was her fault, not the dogs.

I would tell your grandparents, and depending on the seriousness of the bite the girl needs to go to the emergency room. And if it was an attack unprovoked, that dog may need to be evaluated.
