We are all guilty of this, I am sad to say.

I think, as I have gotten older, I have asked God, to come on up to the front seat with me, where the view of the road ahead is better. If I had any sense at all, I would let Him drive.

As a child, did you ever want something so much, and then when you got it, it sorta lost your attention.? We are still children and will always be to God. We have cried for His attention and then while things are running well, we think we don't need HIM then, and continue on our own.

He knows us better than we know ourselves, and He forgives us for our lack of attention to Him. Actually we pay a price for ignoring Him and when we learn this, we get closer to Him on a regular basis.

This is the dilemma of the believer. As a Christian, we should be focused on God and his desires for us. Instead, we want to go our own way. Even Isaiah said it. All we like sheep have gone our own way. We feel like we can do it all till we get in trouble. That is why Jesus continually used the analogy of the sheep and shepherd. As we grow in the trust of the Lord, we stray less and depend more on Him. It is a learning process for each individual as they follow the path of righteousness. Keep on the path and grow in Him. He is always there guiding and leading. It is part of the Journey.

I think the longer you walk with the Lord (and I don't mean to suggest that you do not), this is not how you live.

God is at the front of my mind all the time, every moment of every day. Everything I think, do and say I filter through His word. He is in no "back seat", He is the context in which I live my life.
