Prayer is talking with God. It is a way we get to know God as our Father. You can talk with Him about anything, anytime! He wants to have talks and fellowship with you. He sent His son, Jesus to bring us back to Him. When we talk with God we must do it through Christ. Pray about whatever is on your heart and God will hear you. He is there for you all the time! May the Lord bless you!

The first reason we should pray is because God tells us to pray. To pray is to commit to “there is hope” and through God’s mercy our prayers will be answered. The second reason we should pray is to keep our relationship with God ongoing so that who we are and what we will become will be shaped by God. The third reason we should pray is because it prayer is power because God is power. There is no doubt that pray makes a difference in the lives of the believers. God wouldn’t have told us to trust him in prayer if it had no meaning. So, pray constantly and keep your heart open to the work of God in your life.

i believe that prayer should mostly be from scripture. and some in the spirit, if you pray that way. but praying scripture you can never go wrong, because you are quoting God's word back to Him. there is a book i love and has helped me a lot in my prayers called prayers that avail much. by Germaine Copeland. excellent and i really recommend it for anyone wanting a more powerful prayer life.
who do i pray to, only to the God of abraham, Isaac, and jacob. why do i pray, to get closer to God, to repent, to hear from God, and to intercede for others.

Well, the bible says for me to bring before the Lord my cares, so I do. For example, in my bible study group, I got a call tonight that someone's mother had fallen and broken her leg. So I was praying for the lady and her mom, that the doctors would be able to set her leg, and she would heal completely. I also prayed for comfort and peace on both mother and daughter. I also learned that the mother does not believe in Jesus, so I was asking the Lord to speak to her heart about who He is and how much He loves her.

Things happen to us, to others, all the day. All day long there are things to pray about. I do it because I know He hears, I know He answers, and I always feel a sweet communion when I pray to Him.

The Holy Spirit teaches us how to pray.
Rom 8:26 The Holy Spirit intercedes.
Because we don't know what to pray for some times.

Prayer, a Precious Loving Provision

“Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God.”—Phil. 4:6.

“Cast all your anxiety upon him, because he cares for you.” Whatever we are interested in, or whatever affects us or weighs heavily on our minds, is a fit subject for prayer, be it of a spiritual or a physical nature. ‘Tell Father about it!’ And having unburdened ourselves we should stop worrying but have faith that “God makes all his works cooperate together for the good of those who love God.”—Phil. 4:6; 1 Pet. 5:7; Rom. 8:28.

Jesus taught us how to pray.

Matthew 6:5 “Also, when YOU pray, YOU must not be as the hypocrites; because they like to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the broad ways to be visible to men. Truly I say to YOU, They are having their reward in full. 6 You, however, when you pray, go into your private room and, after shutting your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; then your Father who looks on in secret will repay you. 7 But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words. 8 So, do not make yourselves like them, for God YOUR Father knows what things YOU are needing before ever YOU ask him.

9 “YOU must pray, then, this way:

“‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10 Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth. 11 Give us today our bread for this day; 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.’

14 “For if YOU forgive men their trespasses, YOUR heavenly Father will also forgive YOU; 15 whereas if YOU do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will YOUR Father forgive YOUR trespasses.

Why do xtians always pray for things?
Prayer is to fathom Gd, to fathom one's soul, to honor and know Gd. NOT to ask for 'stuff".
Is the xtian Gd santa claus?
Do all of you do this?

Luk 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Luk 11:3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
Luk 11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
Luk 11:5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
Luk 11:6 For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
Luk 11:7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
Luk 11:8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
Luk 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Luk 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Luk 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
