I'm not really good at quoting the Bible from memory, but look to Israel for a whole mess of prophesies that have come true, are in the process of coming true and will. Also, some of your answers show prophecy coming true. In The Bible it says something like, men will say oh haven't these things occurred throughout history and nothing has happened. I wonder if nonbelievers realize they are helping prophecies come true!
We are more connected than any other time. There is more information and knowledge being acquired. Wars and rumors of war have never been like this before. Weather changes (global warming) has never been so widely talked about. Globalization is happening! One world religion, government and currency are possible now. There are a lot of reasons to believe we are closer than ever, but I still have no idea how close we are.

Look up Daniel 12:4 - "many shall run to and fro" - people flying all over the world? Knowledge will increase" - due to the Internet? Matthew 24:7 regarding earthquakes, famines, pestilence, war. Luke 21:11 also - fearful sights and great signs from heaven - some interpret as UFOs, comets, etc.

Apart from the prophecies of Daniel 2 and the prophecies of Jesus in Matthew 24, I believe God has allotted 6000 years for the reign of sin in this world. I believe this because throughout history God tried to teach the children of Israel about the value of seventh day, seventh year etc. Six days of work followed by a day of rest. Six years the land was to be cultivated followed by one year of rest. Six years a slave had to work and freed on the seventh year. So, six millennia of sin followed by one millennium of rest (Rev. 20:3,7). When exactly those 6000 years will come to an end we do not know since we do not know when Adam and Eve fell. For that matter we don't know exactly when they were placed in the garden. But it is near.
Add to this the dwindling resources of this earth, global warming, population increase, fundamentalism, terrorism, nuclear weapons (of course, they will not cause the end) etc. and the world is ready for the end.

I was listening to the evening news the other night and got to thinking the very thing you are asking.
I certainly believe that we are living "in the end time" but not in the "last days of the last days". I believe this for a number of reasons such as: the break-down of the family, marriage is becoming obsolete, wide-spread use of very addictive drugs, degree of dishonesty today, people love and value money more than people, and especially, how violence is becoming more and more prevalent in both, the mind-set and the actions of many today, in society. We are imploding as a nation.

Because of the”Generation of the Fig Tree”, or “The Final Generation”, which you'll find in Matthew 24:32-44
That generation started in 1948, You can read more about it at the source below.

*** gt chap. 111 Sign of the Last Days ***
Confidence During the Last Days
I would rather listen to a person who has raised the dead and healed the sick and feed the hungry to show us what he would do as King of the Earth instead of a man (Ecclesiastes 8:9) 9Â All this I have seen, and there was an applying of my heart to every work that has been done under the sun, [during] the time that man has dominated man to his injury.
Jesus discussion with his apostles regarding the sign of his presence in Kingdom power and of the end of the system of things. (Matthew 24:3-13) He warns them about chasing after false Christs. Attempts will be made, he says, “to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.” But, like farsighted eagles, these chosen ones will gather to where the true spiritual food is to be found, namely, with the true Christ at his invisible presence. They will not be misled and be gathered together to a false Christ.
False Christs can make only a visible appearance. In contrast, Jesus’ presence will be invisible. It will occur during a frightful time in human history, as Jesus says: “The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light.” Yes, this will be the blackest period of mankind’s existence. It will be as if the sun were darkened during the daytime, and as if the moon did not give its light by night.
“The powers of the heavens will be shaken,” Jesus continues. He thus indicates that the physical heavens will take on a foreboding appearance. The heavens will not simply be the domain of birds, but they will be filled with warplanes, rockets, and space probes. The fear and violence will exceed anything experienced in previous human history.
As a result, Jesus says, there will be “anguish of nations, not knowing the way out because of the roaring of the sea and its agitation, while men become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth.” Indeed, this blackest period of human existence will lead up to the time when, as Jesus says, “the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in lamentation.”
Despite living during the blackest period in human history, these respond to Jesus’ encouragement: “As these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is getting near.”
So that his disciples who would be living In this time period, during the last days could determine the nearness of the end, Jesus gives this illustration: “Note the fig tree and all the other trees: When they are already in the bud, by observing it you know for yourselves that now the summer is near. In this way you also, when you see these things occurring, know that the kingdom of God is near. Truly I say to you, This generation will by no means pass away until all things occur.”
Thus, when his disciples see the many different features of the sign being fulfilled, they should realize that the end of the system of things is near and that we as Jehovah Wtinesses Preach about is to be preach in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nation and this is all it boils down to>>> God’s Kingdom, with the King Jesus Christ ruling it, will soon wipe out all wickedness. In fact, the end will occur within the lifetime of the people who see the fulfillment of all the things Jesus foretells! Admonishing those disciples who would be alive during the momentous last days, Jesus says:
“Pay attention to yourselves that your hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon you as a snare. For it will come in upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth. Keep awake, then, all the time making supplication that you may succeed in escaping all these things that are destined to occur, and in standing before the Son of man.”
2 Timothy 3:1-5 also shows how bad the way of this world is.

Total deception going on by Governments all over the world.
Biblical Christians say with one breath that we are in the end times and that there will be a tremendous amount of deception and then with the next breath they say the Govt could never deceive us........

No one knows but the Father... so it's pointless to think about the timing. Just accept that one day it will come, and in the meantime, live right.
You know, live each day as if it were the last.
