Doesn't that mean that each and everyone of us have been, for like forever.that we are just light, and should not fear death than?

You are absolutely correct! When the Cosmos erupted from a naked singularity, all that ever could be was incorporated within that minuscule Universe! Therefore, as you say, we have all existed in some form or as energy since the beginning of time and will continue to do so until the end of time, space, and matter. I think, too, that since death is inevitable and the unavoidable fate of us all, it must be a natural event, thus not to be feared, as you suggest...

That is man's observation. It just hasn't been proven wrong yet. You are making a generalization that doesn't work. Maybe energy cannot be lost, but that doesn't mean it cannot be changed. If you have been forever then that means you were just an extension of Adam and Eve. Only Adam and Eve were made by God so that doesn't work either. Unless you are trying to take God out of the equation? Then how do you explain the very beginning of time when supposedly there was nothing. Something had to create everything. If there is no God then there is no afterlife. What is the point of being here at all? Besides light is just energy, it doesn't have a conscious state of being like humans. Where did that come from since a scientist cannot duplicate it. Don't try artificial intelligence because that had to be programmed by humans.

Energy does not equal consciousness. Matter cannot be created or destroyed, but that does not mean we live forever.

Everything we value in a human being, such as awareness, emotions, reasoning, thinking, etc. does not survive death. The matter that does the thinking (the brain) will eventually cease to function. It's exactly like the period before birth - no awareness. It still doesn't make sense to fear the unavoidable (death).

Who says energy can't be lost. I lost my energy the other day and had the darnedest time getting it back. Energy has nothing to do with death. When you die all your energy is lost. So why should anyone fear death? Only people who think they may go to Hell like Christians fear death.

I think we shouldn't fear death, but fear reincarnation.

I have a ghost that lingers in my appartment from time to time. I do not feel threatened by her and sense no evil. A medium once told me that a lot of ghosts linger beacause they have had such a physically painful/tragic/or prolonged death that they can't crossover for fear of reincarnation and experiencing that pain again. It kinda makes sense.

With that in mind, I have more empathy for my ghost. I guess all you can do is live a good life and do no harm to others.

If the idea that the matter you are made up of will be recycled into the universe comforts you, then yes, do not fear death.

That does not mean there is an afterlife though.

I like the idea that the basic make-up of my body will go back into the earth, just as it came from the earth. But I am not afraid of death in general, nor the fact that there is no afterlife.

Can't be created or destroyed (or lost as you say) But can change forms. The atoms that make you up, could be in the future used to run a nuclear power station, and they would be changed. You won't always exist as you do today.

One out of three...

That which makes us animate is a form of energy, which upon our death dissipates into the environment, primarily as ambient heat. Furthermore, as our body is eaten by bacteria, the energy stored in our cells is transferred up the food chain.

However, that's probably not quite what you meant.

Have you studied biology or chemistry? Remember that energy doesn't die, it merely changes form. Death isn't an end, it is merely a change. Big difference.
