we hooked up a home theatre system to our tv, but whenever we're watching a dvd and want to put it louder the channel changes, and also when we put the radio on of the home theatre system the tv switches on.

Looks like your TV and the home theater share some IR commands. Rare, but not unusual.
When it is time to watch a DVD, put a little cardboard in front of the IR receiver in the TV, this should fix your problem.

no and yes. yes the tv can be connected to a home theatre system, but you can not hear the 5.1 sound as you hear through a dvd player because we dont have multi channel sound reception in india yet. even the prologic wont work as it also require atleast a stereo input. you would be listening to only mono sound on thehome theatre system if connected to a TV

I assume u are using a "universal" remote.

first make sure the remote is programmed for the correct components.
each one will take a different code.
HOWEVER, if the components are from the same manufacturer u may have some problems.
It doesn't usually happen between different mfg.

Your Front Panel control buttons are TOUCHY...Turn up the sound and the buttons vibrate enough to make contact...

Doesn't surprise me, I've seen touchy buttons before.....
