Almost a third of XBOX 360 are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 3%.
Let's compare them

PS3 has 8 kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3x2
PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 50 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual DVD (9.5 gb).
Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in card reader (except 20 gb version), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $

Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of doom" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it.

Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is a uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.

In 2008 we'll get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4.

PS3 online world will be free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.

In some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".

Just read the two pages of questions and count how many are about the red ring of death for the 360...... Multiply that by 100 and that's how many people are having issues everyday... If the 360 is a seventh generation system then the ps3 would be considered 8th generation the technology is way ahead of it's time,

THe 360 has an outdated dx9 based graphics system that is hardware locked and can't upgraded...Programmers are developing for dx 10 now. So the 360 , elite, and 65nm won't have much more of a shelf life in it's current configuration. Microsoft will have to release another system by the end of 2008 beginning of 2009 if it wants to continue to compete with the ps3..., Microsoft has already re- released the system as the elite in less then two years after initial release, yet they neglected to update the motherboard and grphics card, all they did was add hdmi and a bigger hard drive.

Well if you like the ps3 games, get the ps3. Both have great graphics, but the ps3 has the edge with 1080p hd. I would have to say xbox live gold is better but it costs 50 bucks a year, while the ps3 internet (including a browser and buit in wifi, which is 100 more dollars for the 360 to get) is free.

This fall a 40 gb ps3 will be released for only 400 bucks too, so go with it.

Mate, I have an Xbox 360 and let me tell you ITS A PIECE OF CRAP! The guy before me was exactly right over 30% of 360's mess up from the START! My 360 scratched my games so I cant play them anymore. I know ps3 is alot more expensive , but in the long run you will be happy with it. The ps3 also has ALOT better features. Since the 360 has been out for longer it has more games but once the ps3 has been out for a while it will gain better games. Just take my advice and NEVER get a 360 till Microsoft solve the disc scratching and red ring of death problems.

As many others mentioned the PS3 is definitely the better choice, it's more powerful, more durable and even has the potential to be a home computer if you install Linux on it. If you check out YouTube, people have put PS3's through torture tests in extreme hot and cold and they survive and run like brand new, Try that on a 360 and it's guaranteed to fail. Plus free online, alone that's gives you the money to buy a new game every year instead of paying 60 dollars for the online subscription. In short spend the extra money and get a PS3, and get the 80GB version, it has everything and includes Motorstorm for free. Also for all you Halo fans, your doom is coming with Killzone 2. When it comes out, all of us with PS3's will be having the time of our lives while you sit there saying, why didn't I get a PS3.

Go with the PS3 man. I have a PS3 and yes, Sony will be getting more and better exclusive games. All of the games that come out for the Xbox 360 are like mystery games too me. I like Sony's games better anyways just like you. The only games the 360 has is Halo 3, the Gears of War series, and Bioshock. The PS3 has way more games coming out that aren't just a bunch of shooters, it has a little bit of everything coming out.

The major features that the PS3 has that separates it from the 360 is that it has bluetooth, you can install a separate operating system, it is backward compatible with PS1 and PS2 games, it doesn't have hardware problems like the 360, and it has a built in web browser. With the web browser for the PS3 you can check your Yahoo email , shop on your favorite websites or just do whatever. Go with the PS3 for sure!

pc. build a quad center, 4 gig Ram, with a 6770 or 550 for around $600-$seven hundred then you definitely can play pc video games. Gamecube and Wii video games with the Dolphin Emu. you are able to play PS1 and PS2 video games with epsxe1&2 Play any pastime for the previous platforms, GB, NES, Atari, MAME, etc, etc.. DS video games too. relatively the only video games you are able to no longer play on pc are, xbox1 xbox360, psp, and ps3. and that i've got a CFW psp for the psp, and a supercard dstwo for my DS. PS3 HAS NO GAEMS maximum the solid 360 video games are on pc too, so relatively i'm no longer lacking something lots, and that i nonetheless have much greater video games then I even have time to play lol, I actually have a million 1TB force finished, and that i'm beginning on the 2d. in case you do no longer want a pc, get a 360.

If you have the money, get a ps3. It has FREE online play that is improving a lot. It will have the best graphics out in about a year. It also has BUILT-IN blu-ray! and you also said you like the ps3 games, so I don't know what you are waiting for?

Go PS3.

You arleady stated that you like PS3 games, I'll recommend the 60GB version for more backwards compatibility, GET Heavenly Sword (good until GoW3), Motorstorm and Warhawk + upcoming games and blu-ray movie support.

Two words...Halo series. it is awesome. go for the 360, ps3s tech is advanced, but its a little too advanced for us average joes. If you buy the elite package, ur odds of the red rings of death are lower....the better parts are going to that system. u can also buy an extended warranty for 50 dollars, and that will completely cover replacement fees. another thing: Bioshock. it looks awesome. And the reason that the 360 only has 2 memory slots is simple...built in hardrive. the elite gets 120 gig hardrive, and i think thats as much as anyone would need. i have friends who have the 360 and have experianced the red rings. one didnt buy an extended warranty. he is still waiting to replace it. the other spent an extra 50 bucks, it did the rings, he sent it back and got a brand new one, free. thats why i want a 360. except sonys online thing does look cool...it just depends on the gaming u like. they both have only on this one games, but oh well, if the developers would actually put theyre games on other systems. well, i guess it doesnt help that Bungie (Halo, mist, Marathon) is a Microsoft company now, so thats why halo isnt on playstation. sad
