The deodorant I use is Old Spice. After about a halfday of use, my armpits will itch a lot and this itching continues for several hours. Is this a problem with my skin or is there a non-irritating deoderant that I can switch to?

I see this is a very old thread but since nothing on the internet ever actually goes away I'm going to add an answer. I have had this problem at various times in my life for the last 40 years. Changing brands always worked for a while and then stopped. I have tried using crystal and it works just OK. So I added a natural deodorant on top of that and got better results. But what seems to have worked the best is...Milk of Magnesia. I never expected this to work and only tried it because I had nothing to lose. But it really seems to work well. Now it's only February; let's see what I say in July...in South Texas.

If you didn't have this problem with Old Spice before, then you have probably become allergic to it. This happened to me. You just need to experiment with other deodorants until you find one that's effective that you're not allergic to.

The only deodorant that I can use without an allergic reaction is Shakley cream deodorant. I have been using that for over 10 years now and have no problem with allergic reactions from it.

I hope what I have said is helpful.

Degree. My bro uses Degree for Men in Extreme Blast, and I use Degree for Women in Shower Clean (:

Smells great, lasts all day, and it's the best deodorant I've ever tried out of Ban, Secret, Dove, TeenSpirit, etc. ;P

Try somethng more basic like Right Guard, unscented. I think Old Spice is a stick? Try the Right Guard spary. Its cooling and should not bother you. The best way to test is to put the deoderant on the inside of your forearm and see if it bothers you. Try that on the weekend. Get rid of the Old Spice though it sounds like you are alergic to it. Good Luck!

Gel deoderants are irritating to me. Also, there are fragrance free deoderants that might be less irritating.
