Do you think Nextel pays out a Million to win the Daytona 500 and the All-Star Race? There are all kinds of funding in Nascar. The Main Sponsor, all of the Sponsors of Nascar (Home Improvement, Office Supplies, Shipper, etc). Local track sponsors, lap sponsors (Yes there are even sponsors for each lap at some tracks), ticket sales, the tracks, commercials (yes those we hate to see over and over), the television broadcast. Indirectly, souvenirs sales, food sales, and others.
There is a large enough income, I doubt Nascar would have problems with paying salaries.

Well let's see 150,000 people attend a race at 125 plus a ticket that comes to 18,750,000 plus they get a good percent of the merchandise sales and concessions so i don't think they will go broke not to mention the hundreds of millions Sprint and Nextel gives them. Busch pays 15 million a year to sponsor the Busch series and the Nextel cup makes at least 30 million per race so don't worry about the nascar employees. Not to mention that nascar owns a good portion of the tracks they race at and the NHRA and IRL use those tracks to and they have to pay NASCAR
Plus 75% of the tickets go for allot more than 125 i priced tickets at Richmond and most of them were 165 plus

They generate money from sponsors, teams, ticket and merchandise sales,etc...It all works itself out. Plus they generate money from the television broadcast sponsors and advertisers as well.
