Woah there tree hugger, some people just need a little power in their grasp. 300 hsp is good power depending on what car it is. SUVs will have more hsp than cars simply because of the more power needed for the more weight. If you are looking at an altima, g35,45 or maxima those are all fast cars. The maxima can match most stock cars out there and is faster than the altima. Also, the altima is just as fast as todays mustangs. 300 hsp can really haul with a nice light frame.

It's all relative. You should think horsepower in terms of vehicle mass. 200 horsepower in a small vehicle such as, for example, Scion tC or Nissan Sentra, will outrun and beat a 300 horsepower SUV.
To answer your question, it depends on the vehicle. Since you're on the Nissan board I'm assuming you're thinking of the 350z. Yes, 300 horses is plenty.

Really good thats like what is in a 3000GT Twin Turbo, that can run 13.5 1/4.. 300 horsepower car is packing alot of power.. SOME V8 sports cars do but it is good. Like if it is in a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder car it is REALLY good.

#300 good 400 better 500 great over 600 excellent! Buy you have to remember " you got to pay to play". Also the lighter weight the car is also helps. If we don't use up the worlds oil the Chinese will. Just fact hugg all the trees you want but do it fast they are being cut down by the thousands every minute.

100 HP sucks....forget what old dude said!
300 HP is good, solid horsepower for a V6 Engine, especially if you are considering a 350Z, which I have and love!
BUT HP is kinda like $$...the more you have...eventually, the more you'll want.
My next car will hopefully be upwards of 300 HP!

Good? Good for what? Using up a lot more of earth's resources than necessary for getting from one place to another! In the past there have been lots of cars with less than 50 hp that carried 4 people and their luggage and got around just fine. Just about all cars these days have more power than that, but only because these cars sell better. Really, anything over 100 hp is not needed!
