i have little experience but am willing to learn and take classes

does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can accomplish this dream?

I have tried websites but people say they're scams but if a site has worked for you give the site to me.
and do you have anything you can refer me to like acting classes that are reasonably priced, people, agencies etc...

Try acting. It helps. Find some good acting classes, Los Angeles and New York have a lot. Do small productions, get seen. Get an agent. Then you have a shot at TV and Film. If you are planning on this real soon, and college is real soon, medical is a real good fallback.

Hi,

this question comes up so often that I created an ebook that you can download called How To Start An Acting Career. Just go to the right-hand column, sign in and you can download it for free. It will give you some important considerations about what to do to get started. http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acs-blog.html

One thing you must realize however, that is, thinking that you will do it before med-school is not realistic. I didn't say it's not possible. Anything is possible. But it is simply not probable, no matter how hard you work. If you have special connections, have extraordinary natural talent AND there are the right projects for which your type is right, then you might have a chance. Let's face it, statistics say that that is probably not your situation.

So, my suggestion is that you begin to investigate what it really means to be an actor, start taking classes, study the industry and build your base for long-term success. Those are the kinds of things you will find in the free ebook.

Good luck!

Tony

Well, for starters, you're in the home of improv, many fine serious (Sinise, Malkovich) and comic (much of SNL alum) studied and performed there before heading West or East to pursue their TV careers. And some of the best, most creative improv in the city is being performed there I suggest you look at classes either with Second City or Improv Olympic in your town. Both are reasonably priced.

Agencies don't come into the picture until you've developed your craft and gotten on stage enough to be noticed.

Break a leg.

Happy med. school. There is no way you are going to get there before med school. It would help if we knew how old you were and what city you are in, otherwise how can we answer your questions? All websites are scams. There is no quick and easy, magical way to become an actor. It takes years of careful training, experience and know how. Unless you are really, really good and really really good looking, you have a long row to hoe.

You mean, how do you become an actor. You, as an actor, do not have control over what you do in the industry.

Your agent, is the professional and will submit you for projects that are "right," for you.

The actor is not involved in that process. Show up, audition, go home and hope you book the role.

Believe me, if you have a timetable you should just forget it. It has to be an all consuming desire. Not a teenage pipe dream. Get it out of your head and plan a future that does not include professional acting.

You need to take acting classes and try out for roles at school

Get lots of friends in high places and be energetic. Directors want that in their movies. Display your talents whenever you can too. It will help you be confident.
