the Earth is billions of years old, the first earth age ended with Satan's overthrow, we are now in the second. Humans have only been on the earth for a few thousand yrs. When Christ returns [7th trump, vile.scroll] the third and finial age will begin.

The bible doesn't say how old the earth is. It does say in one passage that one day of God's is as a thousand years. Not a thousand years but as a thousand years. I figure that means a long time. I should add that even scientists argue over the age of the earth and these figures vary within tens of millions of years and greater. Not exactly an exact science.

No one knows for sure. Those that say 4.5 billion also
cannot prove their number. They have no ancestery to
go by either. The Bible certainly does have that, so I'd
rather believe the Bible, than a blank with no proof whatsoever. There had to be a beginning of the human
race and the only verifyable print of that event is the
Holy Bible. Science wants us to believe we came from
dynasauers, plants, apes etc. etc. but then where did
they come from and who created them? How did the
solar system get it's beginning in it's perfect form? Big
Bang? I never saw anything perfect come from any kind
of Big Bang. Get real.

You are right and it is called " The first earth age" It is alluded to in the book of Job. It is a time period between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2 . It was also alluded to by Christ when He said " I will utter things that have been hidden since the " foundation' of the world. The Strong translation of the word Foundation is Katabole which refers to the putting down of the rebellion of satan and his follower. This happened in the first earth-age in the time of Job

The genealogies listed in Genesis chapters five and eleven provide the age at which Adam and his descendants each begot the next generation in a successive ancestral line from Adam to Abraham. By determining where Abraham fits into history chronologically and by adding up the ages provided in Genesis chapters five and eleven, it becomes apparent that the Bible teaches the earth to be about 6,000 years old, give or take a few hundred years.

Scientists estimate the age of some rocks as being three and a half billion years, and the earth itself as being about four to four and a half billion or more years. Do the Math.

Sadly, many people consider the christian bible to be some sort of text book of facts. The bible is a poorly written book of fiction for the most part. Most religious dogma is also incredibly sexist, and if I were female I would denounce organized religion even more.
The earth is at least several billion years old according to our still evolving science. There is no exact number and does not need to be. We are so short lived we cannot conceptualize even a million years in any significant way.
Good luck with the bible study.

If you do the math as you move through the book of Genesis and compare the lifespans of the patriarchs, you will find that it is approximately 6-7,000 years old. We know that creation was a literal 7 days because death was a result of sin and we can not have dinosaurs and other things dying prior to our punishment. We were created on day 6.

According to the Bible, it has been 6,000 years since Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the forbidden fruit.
The Bible doesn't say how long between their creation and their fall, and it doesn't say how much time took place between the original creation in Genesis 1:1 and the formation of the earth in 6 days.
Anything else is speculation.
