I'm sorry that you are in this situation, but I have to say, it's not just black men who leave pregnant girlfriends. White men, hispanic men, and all other men do it too. AND pregnant women of all races leave their boyfriends. My only suggestion is to calmly and rationally ask HIM why he left. Let him know you're not looking for a fight, only for closure. If he doesn't or can't give you an answer, the only thing you can do is put him in your past and focus on the wonderful life you are bringing into the world. Don't shut him out of the baby's life, because a child always needs both parents, but don't let him play you, either. I wish you luck.

Black men leave for the same reasons that white men... or any other ethnicity might leave. They don't want to take responsibility for their actions. Where do you think the saying "Why buy the cow when the milk is free" came from?Don't start trying to rationalize his actions by making excuses for his bad behavior. If he had any backbone as a real man, he'd stand by you and his baby. You are better off without him since he has shown he is a spineless, worthless, gutless wonder. Now you need to concentrate on the responsibility you will have as a mother and taking legal steps to ensure he provides for his child too. Learn from this lesson and never look back. Chin up young lady!

Some of you who answered are just plain rude. She is on her asking for understanding of the issue, she's asking for help. She is entitled to her own opinion. Its sad how one person of a certain race can ruin how we feel about all the rest of the people of that race. I think that we should all and I mean EVERY race treat each other with dignity and respect and take responsibility for our actions that way we will be teaching other races and our own children that every race has good moral people and we can all co-exist peacefully.

Without playing games, don’t be available 100% of the time or let your life be an open book. A man that comes on too strong or doesn’t have outside interests will scare a woman away just as much as it would if the circumstances were reversed. Read here http://AttractAnyWoman.emuy.info/?M9jw

Women don’t want to feel as though they are completely responsible for your happiness and that is what it feels like when the other person has no outside interests. Men who are overeager or jump when the woman says jump are the ones who are more likely to end up in the friend zone. This doesn’t mean that you should play the game of not calling for a few days; it means that you should set healthy boundaries until you both naturally find a spot for the other in your lives.

if you think all black men leave their pregnant girlfriends, then you should have been on the pill when you started dating one

That is totally not true. I hate it how people always try to lump everyone of one group in the same category. I am black and my older brother got his girlfriend pregnant and he ended up marrying her and this was years ago and they are still together. Stereotypes are complete b.s.

So...you're totally convinced that your situation extrapolates to ALL black men?

The planet is full of black men happily married and taking care of their wives and families.

I'm sorry your boyfriend left you, but that has more to do with the fact that he has a screwed up perception of life, rather than that he's black.

The question you are asking is stereotypical. It's not just the black men leaving their pregnant girlfriends; other men of other races do that too. You seem to have a one track mind when it comes to that. Please open up your mind and wake up.
