What do you think this says about the nature of men and women today? Do you think this has psychological implications for why we sin and/or our behavior? Or am I reading too much in to it?

Please no rude answers.

If you read carefully you will notice that adam was there when eve chose to disobey God. He said nothing about what she was doing and then blamed the woman and God for his behavior. There might be even more psychological implications to that.

I think you're EXACTLY right about the deception and disobedience. Because God never does anything without a reason, there could very well be psychological implications in it. We already know that men and women THINK differently. That could be the very root of it.

Interestingly, Adam knew that Eve would be cast from the Garden because of what she did. He didn't want to stay there alone, so he chose to eat the fruit as well.

Excellent question! God bless you!

Ok, this is why women sit at the BACK of the synagogue.

Eve had been deceived. ADAM...did the big sins. For instance, he did not TEACH eve the importance of it. Also, he chose to LIE to G-d instead of repent. G-d was looking for the first ever repentance of sin...but Adam said "that woman did it!"

So, women sit at the back because the men need the real repenting. The women's hearts are much more ready for G-d at any given time. Also in Judaism, men are given much more rules to keep them in line (wearing of tzitzit, kippah, being the preist of the home, Shabbat rules, etc)

Because men need them. G-d knows women do not need as many things to stay in line.

See, sometimes what we see as "discrimination" is really just a big misunderstanding.

So many people say "oh....the poor women...not allowed up front"

lol

Blessings and Shalom
David

You are correct. Adam was in charge of his household as the man and so the responsibility rests with him, even for Eve's being deceived......he wasn't taking care of her as he should have been. God has a chain of command and created man with instinct and ability to carry that out within the family unit. It doesn't effect our individual relationship and accountability to God, but in any group there needs to be a leader to maintain order instead of confusion. Adam was the master of the garden and of his household. Some say he watched as Satan beguiled Eve because they were never separated....I don't know, but I do know he was supposed to take care of her and in this he failed.
God created men and women differently, and not just in the physical sense. Women are nesters and naturally focus on details. Men are providers and protectors and look at the bigger picture. These qualities are innate, though some have the ability to take on qualities of the opposite sex out of need or natural talent. It's a very interesting study and can explain a lot of the behavior of men and women. Good question.

Let me be especially…un rude…here.

Men wrote the bible, all the various versions, redactions and adjustments with one really big exception.

These self serving males naturally blame women for anything bad so, naturally it were Eve and not Adam who was the blame for “original” man’s puny attempt to gain knowledge by eating that apple.

When a male writes something, men are gonna be the heroes and women is a gonna be da damsels in de dress!

The amazing irony is that the original author who started the whole thing, the Book of “J”, was most likely either a female or a very effeminate male. The research is easily done; do some reading.

It is true that Adam did not discourage Eve and went along with it. Being head of her, that is why he was also punished aside from also eating.

We, as women, are still responsible for our actions, hence why eve was punished.

In a Christian family, the man should be leading the family, this is why he is appointed head of the family. If, however, he fails to do so in a manor pleasing to God, the women should point it out and follow God's word.

This is what "women be submissive" comes from. Be submissive to your husbands requests as God has appointed man to be the head of the family, IN A WAY PLEASING TO GOD! Man is to lead the wife in Godly ways, and to protect her and love her as Christ Jesus loves and protects the church (the church being the followers not a building).

Eve enticed Adam to sin.
Eve usurped Adam's authority.

Women characteristically entice men to sin.
Women characteristically usurp male authority.

The Bible says women are weak and easily decieved. Don't get me wrong the opposites can also be true, women who are strong in God and men who are weak in God.

But generaly speaking a woman can be decieved much more easily. I worked with a certain industry and noticed how so many ads target women because they know this truth.

Men who are decieved are often self decieved. You will find them much more hostile in the defence of their position.

These truths evidence the need for family hierchy. A woman finds security under the leadership of a Godly man, a man finds security with a loving respectful Godly wife.

Reading too much. Notice though, that their eyes were opened only AFTER both had eaten.
God pronounced judgement on them, and THIS accounts for much.
Disobedience had caused the sinful nature.

"Or am I reading too much in to it?"
Yes, and not too intelligently.
In the MYTH of Adam and Eve they were prohibited from eating of the tree of knowledge and then let loose.
They didn't have free will because they didn't have knowledge ... not going too fast for you?

The other point to consider is that 'god' being 'god' KNEW what he had created and he knew he had created Adam and Eve with a glitch in the programme.
They didn't stand a chance.

The other point to consider is that 'god' being 'god' KNEW the future and therefore knew what would happen.
They didn't stand a chance.

Why would you worship such a sadistic creature?
I know why - cos he has a gun against your head - - he's screaming atcha - - TELL ME YOU LOVE ME! TELL ME AGAIN! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! over and over and over - you KNOW you're going to hell if you don't comply.
Hence you say you LOVE him while all the time you FEAR him.
LOLs.

They had no chance, did they?
