Don't you think this is simply seen by them as a means of dismissal and condescention? Don't you think that it simply makes you look (in their eyes) that you might not be as familiar with the Gospel of peace as you may think?
And how does this sort of preaching further the kingdom of God?

Your right, that isn't the proper method of wooing someone to Christ. We are to be fishers of men, not hunters of men. We need to woo them to God with meekness.

1Cor:4:21: ... shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

Gal:6:1: ...if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness...

2Tm:2:25: In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Ti:3:2: 2 to speak evil of no one, not being quarrelsome, but forbearing, showing all meekness to all men.

Jms:3:13: Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

Rom:2:4: Or do you despise the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

Since I have become a follower of Christ I have never told anyone to "go to hell," or that they are "going to hell." I cringe when I see a post condemning another human being. There will be a Day of Judgment, but I will not be the one doing the judging. You mention some not being familiar with the Gospel, and I must admit that I have been embarrassed of some proclaimed Christians lack of knowledge of the word they claim to be following. Billy Graham probably reached more individuals for Christ than any other single person, and he did teach about heaven and hell, yet he was admired by leaders of many different faiths because he was a persuader of men, not a batterer.

There is no point. Beyond the fact that no person has the right to condemn another to hell, it is not living the word of God, which teaches love.

We must always allow others to believe as they so choose. We could preach and teach and witness until we're blue in the face from it, but if our heart is not filled with the light of Source, then what is the point? It is up to God, to Source, to know our hearts. That is how we will be judged, and that judgment will come only from Him.

I,ve found this to be true sonow i start with the 10 Commandments, introducing the reality of the sin nature of everyone, then give the message of the gospel;they can take it or leave it then.Idon't judge or be judgemental in my approach.Judgement is for the Lord.
At least then,if a person understands the reality of sin, they can take on board the message of the gospel.

A lot of people just try to do what they think God would if God had anything on the ball.

Sure, Jesus talks about the Law of Love and taking the beam out of your own eye before, cranking on the mote in your brother's--But he's just God, what does He know?

I mean, think about an eternity of torture. And people want to start it off early, even add to it for folks who disagree with them? Man! That's just being petty.

Hard to say, consider the apostle Paul's conversion. Given that he was involved in the stoning of Stephen after he attempted to preach the gospel.

But Jesus said, " told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins." Joh 8:24 And likewise "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." Joh 3:18

And likewise John the Baptist, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him." John 3:36

You used the phrase "actively condemning them to hell."

If you mean unrelentingly pointing out another person's sin (adultery, homosexuality, drunkenness, etc.) to guilt them into a form of repentance, I agree.

However, it seems the basis of Christ's mandate and his model was to get to know people and their immediate needs and point them to a life of virtue in serving G*d.

GOD gave us a freewill to choose. If a person chose not to believe in the gospels, so be it. But we have no right to condemn them. Only GOD is our judge...

If one refuses to believe in the Gospel of Christ, then they have condemned themself for rejecting Him. I cannot condemn anyone but myself.

Perhaps God thinks I deserve it, but I don't see why Christians have to remind me all the time.

I get it. Hell. Torture. Eternity. Etc. Don't believe in it, not scared. Don't need to be told 500 more times.
