Its laughable the many parallels that can be drawn between drug and alcohol addiction and religious belief. Both give the user/believer an illusory perception of the world. Both induce the user/believer to behave in a manner that they normally would not behave in, had they had their wits about them. Both are used as coping mechanism and as a means of escapism. Furthermore, both seem to elicit in the user/believer the insatiable need to compel others into using the drug or alcohol or subscribe to the a belief system, and without getting others to do as they do, they can never be happy.
The alcoholic and the drug addict, on some conscious or unconscious level are cognizant of the fact that what they are doing is counterproductive, and so they need others to join in their misguided actions in order to reassure themselves that what they are doing is not that bad. Similarly, religious people don’t seem secure in their own belief, unless they congregate in groups of like-minded individuals.
To me this underscores a basic truism about the legitimacy of any belief or practice. The more a practice or belief system requires group approval, and cannot stand on its own, the less likely that it is good for you or true.

I don't believe that its a misery to be a Christian. Nor do I think that way about Jews or Muslims or others as well. Faith in God is joy-and that is what He is. Running around and trying to convert though regardless of your faith isn't always good either. It should be a willing drive in ones self to convert.

No - On the contrary, that's why the atheists don't want anybody to become Christians, and that is why satan is trying to draw as many people to hell as he can by using lies and deceipt into getting people to disbelieve God's Word.
