why not? America does not make its laws based on the christian beliefs or the dictates of the bible. gay marriage ensures equal advantages for people no matter what their sexual orientation while polygamy exploits women. Again america is not a church, it is a diverse country with many many religions and many many non religions

just because polygamy is biblical doesn't make it right. how about america legalize slavery, oppression of women, an eye for an eye, violence, stoning the adulterous individual? Aren't these all biblical encouraged acts?

In the Biblical sense, Gay marriage is impossible. Will the US legalize it, slowly as the USA goes down the drain morally, we probably will. Gay marriage is another step toward the demise of the USA. I am not aware that Polygamy was practiced in the Bible, but here is what I do know. One wife is sometimes one wife to many already, any guy with a brain would not want more than one.....

Show me where the Bible accepts Polygamy. Considering a man can't leave he's mother and father twice "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." Gen2:24, let alone like 50 times, i don't see how you can validate your statement
