First of all when talking about the Mormon “golden plates” one needs to put the term in quotes otherwise one is implying that they were real.
At least the 10 commandments are based on something in history, something that existed centuries before the “10” showed up.
So, both are made up and can be considered allegory or more correctly BS. One by some con artist and the other copied from Hammurabi thereby exhibiting a lack of character for failing to acknowledge the original source.

Consider the shear size of the tablet. It's a tablet not a page, and would be monstrous the size of it to hold the whole book.
The book of Mormon contradicts scripture in the bible. How can God contradict himself
Why did only one man ever see this tablet? There was a whole tribe that saw the 10 commandments etched onto stone tablets.

the difference is that the 10 commandments were real and written in the hand of God. they were smashed and rewritten by Moses. i have no clue what that other thing is...mormonism is a cult and very very false.
EDIT: the proof is in the bible...the written inspired word of God. that's all the proof we christians need.
blessings.

Joseph Smith claimed the Book of Mormon to be equal to the Bible. We read in the word of God the following scriptures:
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deuteronomy 12:32
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 4:2
Revelation 22:18-19
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
The apostle Paul reiterated this admonition in Galations 1:8, 9, " But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
How much plainer can it get? Which is the truth? The Holy, inerrant Word of Almighty God or a book written by a mere man? The Bible tells us that holy men of God wrote under the direction of the Holy Ghost, whereas Joseph Smith claims to have been given this message by the angel, Moroni. When Paul tells us not to be deceived by even an angel from heaven what do you think he means? A curse has been placed upon all who change God's word.
One other thought, how can someone believe in marriage for all time and eternity when Jesus Himself told the Sadducees that there is no marrying or giving in marriage in Heaven. Mark 12:25 states the words of the Lord Jesus Christ: "25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven."
Who is telling the truth? Joseph Smith or the Lord Jesus
Christ? Remember, "...all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Rev. 21:8
As for the claim that plural marriage was only for the protection of women and their children, there is no evidence to prove that. Brigham Young and the first band of Mormon pioneers came to the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847.
It was the 45th state admitted to the union, on January 4, 1896. In order for Utah to become a state polygamy had to be abolished on the orders of the US government. The LDS church complied, however protesters to this formed the FDLS group.

The ten commandments were written by the finger of God. Anything to do with Mormonism came from men, not God.
