The original disciples were persecuted, stoned, beaten etc... they definitely didn't do it for the money or to be popular. The original disciples saw Jesus die, rise and ascend to heaven and that was their motivation. If you read it even Jesus family didn't believe until AFTER he rose again.

He probably would put many of these wealthy preachers in the same category as the Pharisees and Seduces that he so often condemned for hypocrisy. IF they are using the money well and with God's purposes in mind... maybe he would say well done but only if God was first in their priorities!

I don't think he'd give a hearty thumbs up for alot of churches for alot of different reasons......but...it's not my place to judge. I just know when whatever disciples were in prison they wrote various letters to the church of whatever explaining where they were veering off the path in different ways and warning and instructing them to change their ways. So having churches veer off isn't something new. That's why it's our own responsibility to learn as well and not just take the word blindly from someone. That's why religion is so controversial. I was always taught the more you read the more you understand because each time you read it something hits you new or differently or with a deeper understanding. My Dad was major in giving money to the church and I asked him how could he when he was just lining the pockets of someone. He told me God instructed him to give and he had faith it would go where it was ment to go....and if the preacher misused it in selfish ways...he was the one that was going to have to answer for it....not the people giving.

(sorry......I read it....but I'm not good at remembering specific chapters, verses etc.)

I Peter 5

2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

I Corinthians 3

9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

God shall judge everyman according to his work. Being rich is not a sin. The love of money is a sin that can even afflict the poor.

Well, I do not want to gainsay all Mega Churches as I know some that do very well and use the money to further the gospel not their wallet.

Others I believe should beware the second coming.

I don't know of any Christian organization which has turned into a Billion dollar organization.

So your question is without merit.

God knows our hearts. His judgment is going to be right. Also JWs are making some serious money and I was told that they do not even give to the charity.

Jesus only got angry once during His ministry. And it was at people much like them, the moneychangers at the Temple.

What do YOU think He'd do today?
