the question deleted. Here's the link again if you want to read about the national day coming up, but read it before a gun owner deletes it again and Yahoo cooperates.

I'M A CHRISTIAN AND I OWN A GUN FOR PROTECTION, IF SOMEONE BREAKS INTO MY HOME THEY WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT. AND THAT GOES FOR PROTECTING MY COUNTRY FROM COMMUNISM AND PEOPLE THAT WANT TO KILL AMERICANS. NOW YOU CAN SIT BACK LIKE A MORON IF YOU LIKE, BUT I WILL PROTECT MYSELF.

Most gun owners I have met believe in God.

Also, most gun owners I've met love guns as a hobby, the same as bikers lover motorcycles.

Owning a gun is more about freedom and hobbyism than anything else. The self defense aspects of it rarely come into play for anyone.

Gun owners do not hate God. We just don't want to be defenseless in our homes, we chose not to be victims of violent crime. Some one attempted to carjack me 8/6/2000 and I was glad to have the means to defend myself. Not every Christian is a mamby pamby candy *** living in Pollyanna. Don't want to hurt anyone unnecessarily, but will defend my family with all means legally available. Law abiding gun owners love God and have the right to defend their selves from criminals.

Gun owners Love God and vice-versa. At least in the correct sense. Yahoo Answers is a left-wing propaganda site that promotes it's own agenda; It is not fair or equal in any respect. As such, this will probably be eliminated before you get the chance to read it. So beware what you see here. It is neither fair nor unabiased. God made people. People hated other people. People made guns to defend their beliefs. And so it is people, NOT GUNS, who are to blame. Most High would, of course, prefer no need for such instruments of death. This however was destroyed in the Garden of Eden. Shoulda', coulda', woulda'. Didn't happen. And so, here we are.

So since you do not believe in gun ownership you do not believe in self protection?
Does this mean hunters who use guns for a source of food as hating God?
This is nothing more than anti gun propaganda...and anyone who spews things like this or believes it... has no knowledge of any kind of guns or how they are used and watches too much TV.

No, I know Catholic priests that own guns, now there are probably Christians that hate guns, but having a gun has nothing to do with your love of God.

Violent criminals might hate God, but they should not be confused with law abiding gun owners.
You should also not expect people to buy into the idea that God opposes gun ownership.
He may have been insulted at your misrepresentation of God, and not your misrepresentation of gun owners

Ask a fundamentalist christian! Those are the ones who think it's a god given right!

I, on the other hand - a casual catholic - merely think it's my right and that it should only be a privilege of the responsible and capable. It really is too easy to get one.

Sounds like spam to me... maybe that's why it was deleted. I doubt that yours is the final word on what Christians think about gun ownership.

It appears that one could say that anti-gun "Christians" hate the constitution and, by extension, the USA, freedom, and even God.

Yeah, makes as much sense as your argument.

Well, not everyone believes in a god so that's just your little club if that's what you want. Everyone gets to believe what they want about guns too.
