1 and a 1/4 cups of grated Cheddar cheese
1/4 pound of softened corn oil margarine
1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
1 crushed garlic clove

Mix well. Add enough milk to form the dough into a ball, then cover the ball with plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes. On a floured board, roll out the dough to a 1/2-inch thickness. Cut out bone shapes and bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until slightly brown and firm. Makes 2 to 3 dozen, depending on size.

If you trust your vet more when it comes to nutrition, why not ask him for some recipes. If you had talked to your vet, he would have told you not to put white sugar in any dog treats you make. Go to the library and get some books on dog treats.

A little bit of peanut butter makes a great treat. Dogs love it.

I cut liver into bite size pieces and then bake until slightly dry. I also feed these raw as well, the only reason I bake them is otherwise they make a big mess out of my treat bag.

Hello,
I would say Carrots!
They are healthy and you can boil them for a bit to soften them. Dogs love them, I give them to all my dogs and they just love them.
Inexpensive and healthy.
You can even add some low salt chicken or beef bullion to the water that you boil them in, or add some gravy to the water.
Then put them in a container in the fridge, healthy soft dog treats.
My vet recommended them to me and I laughed at first.
BUT...... My dogs love them.
Good Luck, Angel
