This is a difficult comparison because they are two completely different animals.

The Hummer H3 is basically a Chevy Colorado pickup with a mini-Hummer body on it. It's an okay truck, but you're paying so much because it looks like a Hummer, not because of what's underneath.

The Toyota Land Cruiser is a bona-fide, supremely-engineered premium 4wd from the ground up. It costs more, but you get an incredibly well-engineered, reliable, capable machine.

If you drove the two side-by-side, there'd be no question which is a higher-quality product.

If you don't want to spend the Land Cruiser coin but want a high-quality 4x4, try the Toyota 4Runner. It doesn't look like a Hummer, but it is a well-designed, great-performing, reliable ute that you would be proud to own.

Unless you want to make your mechanic's shop very happy, stay away from the H3!

Happy 'wheeling.

Although I sell Toyota, Hummers were made for this as Landcruisers are a rich persons 4wd SUV for road.
