Most people I know do it. I don't see anything wrong with it. I think people subconsciously do it.

If talking to oneself is a sign of mental illness or insanity, than I am probably the most insane indivudual you will ever meet. I come up with my most inspiring creations when I talk to myself. So I guess you can sign me for a ride on the crazy train. I don't think anyone will ever figure out why people do it.

Heck no. I talk to my animals all the time. My response, is at least I am never alone.....haaa.

There is a difference when in public a person will be rambling on forever and there is not a soul around them. There would be some mental issues. For me, it helps me clarify things, if I get busy...let's see now, what was I doing a minute ago? No harm done.

Nothing worse, than people that ask how are ya doing? And, I answered, oh, having a bad day by which they responded, Good? If someone isn't gonna listen, then, don't ask.

When there are other symptoms present, it could be a sign of mental disorder. But not necessarily.

I talk to myself all the time; I find it helps me think, especially when I'm writing (both work based papers and little fantasy things that I use to unwind), and when I'm drawing. I've been doing it since before I remember, and I remember getting into lots of trouble because I tend to unknowingly talk out loud during exams!

Usually it's the only way of finding someone you can have an intelligent conversation with. REALLY. Some people you talk to don't hear a word you say, or are so engrossed in their own little worlds that they don't really know what you're talking about and don't really care. It's definitely not a sign of mental illness that I'm aware of.

I do it and I am not crazy. I get all the right answers too!!! I talk to God out loud too. Some people just vocalize more than others. Their thoughts are either kept to themselves in their brain or you say it out loud. It depends where and when you talk to yourself as to whether someone thinks you are crazy. If you are schizophrenic, then it is mental illness. That is when you talk to someone that you perceive to be there and they aren't. Thinking out loud is just fine. Many of us sing out loud, so why not talk out loud. Just be careful what you say and when and where you say it. I pronounce you sane!

no, not unless they walk around the streets talking to themself out loud. a person talk to themself in their head all the time and if someone were to talk to themself in their bedroom i don't think that's that mental. When a person hear what they say they can reassure and be clear about what they are thinking.

some assume that in view which you're speaking to your self, you "pay attention voices" or "see imaginary human beings." i think of this is stupid, certainly. in case you prefer to speak to your self; properly, be my customer. Who ought to you have faith extra beneficial than your self?

Anyone with this condition isn't really awake, ever. Be here now and you'll wake up.
