I am not LDS but live in the state of Utah and am really tired of this forum being used to castigate a group of people who are humans just like any of you. Its for genealogy not making insulting remarks about anyones religions. We all have our opinions about anything or anyone but this isn't the place for it. Go to the Philosophy forum to spout your vitrial not here. And before you mouth off about anyone or anything find out what your talking about before you make yourself look like a fool.
I am 81 years old and remember a man names Hitler and remarks like what is going on here scare me as I remember what he created for people that were of the "wrong"religion.

I agree with Wendy C 100%, I was under the illussion that YAHOO answers was a sharing, caring fun to participate forum, but just lately there has been lots of nastiness, and trying to get one upmanship on another user. It shouldn't be like that, we all come here to fun and answer questions, there is a minority spoiling it for the majority as far as i'm concerned, shall we all try to be nice people, we used to be.

There was one person recently who posted about 7 or 8 questions and gave the best answer to the same person on all. They were very insulting about Mormons.
It is very possible the the asker and answerer was the same person using 2 different accounts.
I believe the person or persons had an ax to grind against Mormons or genealogist. Maybe both. This is not normal. Most of us have nothing but nice things to say about the LDS in allowing people to use their resources for genealogy. They are super great. They don't take advantage of people trying to convert them.

I do agree that this is not the catagory to debate your thoughts on people's religion. The person or persons can go also to the Religion and Spirtuality section to find out what they want to know about the LDS Church or any other religion they have questions about.

I wish I knew. No matter how many times it is said, so many people people keep saying we are not Christians and we are a cult. I think active, long time members have more knowledge about the LDS church than they do!
