if you do not make sure you mention Jehovah?
I personally think that is putting down God's powers.

Sorry, I choose to give God more credit than that.

The pattern of prayer Jesus set was to address God as "Father".:
Mark 14:36 NWT "Abba, Father, all things are possible to you"
Matt 6:9 NWT " You must pray, then, this way: "Our Father..."
John 11:41 NWT " Father, I thank you."
John 17:41 NTW " Fater, the hour has..."

In all honesty, I do not think that at all. I also do not believe that other people feel that way. But since God has a love for his own name, I am having a hard time understanding why some are so insistent upon rejecting it. We use Jesus' name, do we not? That is not putting down any authority or power of his, is it?
Do you feel it would be better if we use Yahweh? And then would it also be better if we use Yehoshuah?

I'm with Hannah, the bottom line R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
I will point out another reason. If a person speaks "YHWH/Jehovah" name, everyone will know who you really are speaking about. I know God knows and reads everyone's heart and its no big secret. When speaking with pride of His Holy name, now that really pleases Him, alot!
If you just say God like this world leader's now that is scary!
"In God We Trust" what God are they talking about? We don't know but I have a hunch on what God it is. You know "money" (corruption) is link to "who" God. Wow, that is VERY scary!

If Jesus command to sanctify the name of his father in Matthew 6:9, then why you don´t want to obey Jesus, Do you love him, obey him, remember John 14:21 "He that has my commandments and observes them, that one is he who loves me."
Jesus is the son of the most high in Luke 1:32 "This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High;"
and his name is Jehovah in Psalms 83:18 "That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth"
Do you think you are hurting Jehovah´s witnesses not doing it? NO, simple you are the only one that is closing the ga with God almighty, sorry I konw you don´t want to hear this but it is true.
you are afraid of use the name of Jehovah, why?
Matthew 4:10 "Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’"
Jesus used the name of Jehovah, like or not he used..... Satan hates that name and he never use it.
fenian1916: if Picking 3 verse don´t prove anything using none verse also prove anything.
Psalms 14:1 "The senseless one has said in his heart:
“There is no Jehovah.”
They have acted ruinously, they have acted detestably in [their] dealing.
There is no one doing good. "
all the answerer talk about their opinion but never use the bible to prove that point you don´t want to be agree it is Ok, it is not with me but what the bible says that is why Jesus will reject too many christians in Armageddon according to Matthew 7:21-23. cause they want to do what ever they want but not obey something as simple as use the name of God t o pray.

Jehovah needs the Watchtower society to interpret what he says. God gets so confused the new light form the Watchtower society blinds him.

Again, with the "I think" and / or "I feel".....
I noticed that not a one of You,
that are against Jehovah's name,
has mentioned, 'God's word' or 'in the Bible.'
So, all ppl will now know that it is your opinion that counts.
How u think and or feel is what is important...
Not what God says on the matter.
According to the God, YHWH, Jehovah:
"God is not partial,
but in every nation the man that fears Him
& works righteousness is acceptable to Him."--Acts 10:34,35
Nationality, economic circumstances,
skin pigment, have no bearing on the matter
but the motivations of 1's heart & 1's way of life do.
He is the hearer of prayers--Ps 65:1
Prayer of righteous He hears---Pr 15:29
"...no matter what it is that we ask
---{according to His will},
---he hears us." ---1 John 5:14
Shouldn't we then be given the 411,
on what is / is not righteous?
Then shouldn't we know what His will is?
In order for us to comply,
we do have to be given this knowledge.
"The eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous ones,
and His ears are toward their supplication;
but the face of Jehovah is against those doing bad things."
---1 Peter 3:12
"He that is turning his ear away from hearing the law
{of God} even his prayer is something detestable to Jehovah." ---Prov 28:9
All this being said....
I'd say He, hears all prayers....
His eyes & ears-----
He's paying attention toward the righteous,
choses to turn aside from the unrighteous,
those doing bad things.
There are things we can do
to make sure our prayers are acceptable to God.
"At that time they will call to Jehovah for aid,
but He will not answer them.
And He will conceal his face from them in that time,
according as they committed
badness in their dealings."---Mic 3:4
What is proper for prayer--Matt 6:5,7.
You are asking for a wrong purpose---Jas 4:3.
EDIT:
Jesus knew that "Jehovah" is a very important name.
So he taught his followers to use God's name.
He even taught them to speak
about God's name in their prayers.
Jesus knew that God wants all ppl to know His name, Jehovah.
Long ago, God showed the importance of His name
to the man Moses.
In the conversation, between them,
Moses asked God,
'What am I to say,.... Who sent me?' {paraphrased},
God said:
"Jehovah has sent me to you.
Jehovah is my name forever." ---Ex 3:15

God is omnipotent. that means all knowing. it is impossible for him to not know something. he knows your heart before you even say a word. you don't have to say, "dear God" for him to hear you. that's the amazing thing about him!!!!!!! he knows when you are talking to him.
anyways, if God doesn't hear you if you don't say his name, how would he keep you accountable? how is he supposed to know when you have a bad thought or say a bad thing????
he is omnipotent, and he sees/hears/knows everything.

God probably doesn't know those who approach him using "Jehovah" are talking to him at all, since it's a mistranslation.
"who is this Jehovah and why am I getting His calls?"

I agree with you. If people claim that god is all powerful and loving - then he should be listening to anyone who feels they need to talk to him.

moises picking 3 verses does not prove your point and the name jehovah is a poor translation of the name of god so maybe it is insulting to him that you misuse his true name in prayer.
