Word 2007 is painfully slow?

It's especially slow when I'm opening a .doc from a website or something, that wasn't made for 2007. Most of time it just takes like 10 seconds to start up and 15 to start typing. When its a .doc it takes like a full minute to start typing.

Forgot to mention this is on vista with a 2.0 dual core and 2gb ram

when i disconnect from my network with the printer connected its super fast.

Check to see if you have spyware, viruses are in the system, if so, get rid of them.
